Yes Calculated Head speed on 6s will be 3278 not excluding motor efficiency using a 12t pinion on the new 130t main gear

Charlie when you get a chance, could you please tell us how much room there is for a motor's dia.? I'm trying to get an idea of what I can get away with in there on the 130 tooth gear position.

Thanks.

Matt,

The 850 im running now has a 47mm OD can the frame could house around 52mm (non outruner) my advise is stay close to 47 to allow more Gear ratios

Sounds like motor options will be wide open here from mild to wild. This is going to be fun!

Yes the Subzero arms on this are 24mm but note I have done all kinds of maneuvers with all sorts of blades from poor to good that would flutter, fart, also with tracking issues etc... I have even ran the system on 5volts. They just keep going strong heck I have crashed 3 times now only thing I have noticed is you have a higher chance to strip gears but that is prone to any Heli, maybe a little more on direct linkage helis. But, the point is I do not see or feel any funny reactions or delays due to these servos or arms.
I am confident to say if you fly this setup you "WILL" be happy with results

Also the servo positions on this frame are still in stock location so you can still set it up with the shorter arms by simply turning the servo around

As somebody who has flown Charley's heli, I have to say.... IT ROCKS!! Very responsive and positive control. Very fun to fly.

Are there any differences between the RotorWorkz 500SA Versus the HDX 500 SE V2?

The Rotorworkz heli has a few changes that increase the cyclic speed, more gear ratio options and new frames with direct servo layout.

I was wondering that the new main gear is NOT 0.6 module is it ?? Since the smallest pinion available in module 0.6 = 18T , from Revco.
Can you confirm that ? What is the module now ?

In fact I'm waiting for that 130T maingear since I want to have a higher gear ratio with 4s lipo. So I have to choose a motor with higher kv .

The new gear will be 140T and still mod 06. Align has the smaller pinions now.

Once they are in and tested by Charley's team, they will be released once they are approved by Charley.

We test BEFORE release on the Rotorworkz team!!:smokin:

Slow down a little BobO and enjoy flying, Charley has the team and will have this heli right in the most symplistic and cheap way it can happen. Lets try to get back on the semi-real time testing thread this was intended to be.

Charley is doing this as a favor to HD to improve a good heli, but he is really trying to focus on teh Rotorworkz Outrage Line of mild to HARD 3D Machines. I have known Charley for years, and I know his highly coveted testing team. Give them a little time Bob and you will be really happy how simple it is with Rotorworkz DesignZ. Just wait....

I'm not sure why you're referring to me here. I haven't posted in this thread in over a month.
Anyway, if I've struck some nerve somewhere, I'm not aware of it and it has not been my intention. Please make me aware of it if so.

hi,

It would also be nice if you can make this frame in silver also. That make it easer for some SE owners using silver frame like me to switch.

When is iti likely that we will be able to get our grubby little hands on this new frame? I have my HDX500 up on blocks waiting for a new frame ( the old one didnt like what I did to it). I would prefer to upgrade than just replace.

I talked with Charlie today about the frames, I have requested for another minor change to open up the frame for another improvement I'm working on. Please be patient guys, we are trying to get things right the first time, so there will me no need for more changes. I think you will like the new changes which should make this kit a major player in the 425-470mm (500) class.

Patient, you say patient.:arggg::arggg::arggg::arggg:

I would love to get my HDX500 back in the air.
Hopefully I can source another motor for use with the bigger main gear to allow me to go to an 8S setup (2 2100 4S packs).:thumbup:

If they were in stock I would think this one should prove to be a lot of fun on 8s.

That motor looks interesting, I was thinking of using a MEdusa 36-50-???
When the time comes I will have to look closer to the available choices.

I can't find any 32mm listed by Medusa, they seem to go from a 28mm to 36mm without the 32? I think one of the Neu 1907's should fit the bill quite nicely also.

Also as an update all parts for my mods to the heli showed up this week. I have some work to do in the next few days and should be able to flight test this weekend.

My mistake, you are right 36mm
I changed the original post to repair my error

Am looking forward to hear your thoughts of the new frame!
