Hi all,

I would like to try my newly self packed LIPO on stock motor and stock esc (gaui 50amp).
will it work? or will it fry the esc or the motor? any body tried this before?

I thought I would have better head speed with extra 1 cell (extra 4.2 volt fully charged)...

ok my 7 cells are APLUS 2200 mah 25 C rating....

can anybody comment on this..

miilions thanks in advance

I ran 8s and fried the motor after about 10 flights. Then switched to z power 20. I cant comment on the esc as i used a hv. If you dont care about the motor fly it till it dies and asve up for something more suited. I have heard of guys running 8s on the standard motor and getting away with it so 7s may be more forgivng. just watch your gearing.

good info cd5, thanks..
In that case I may as well go and try it.. and will report back what happen..here..

in my calculation.. fully charged 7 cell is only 29.4 volt (4.2v times 7).. shoul be OK with stock ESC..(I think)

yesterday I did plugin the 7s.. it was 4s and 3s. firstly the esc sounded a warning sound, so i unplugged the esc and turn of the rx.

turn on again the rx. connect my usual 3s1p x 2 packs. sounded ok. took out one of 3s1p pack, replace it with 4s1p. now the esc did give the warning anymore.

carefully I took off and hover + figure 8 for 3 minutes. landed and check the LIPO and esc temperature with my fingers..just warm and cooler than usual.. took off again and fly till 5 minutes, still the motor not hotter than usual.

one thing I found is the head speed seems a little higher on normal mode.. I did not try the idle-up mode
