I have ordered the anti static pulley as well now (not yet installed). Applied Graphic33 with clothe and was still getting discharges. Its very weird.

Just thought I would add my recent experience:

I flew my heli with a Z-Power 50A-800 for 150 glitch free flights, crashed and put in a Scorpion HK4035-630 and I started getting glitches (collective pops and tail pops) so I lubed the belt with triflow, Grounded the boom and the motor mount. I am willing to bet that this huge motor with extremely strong magnets was the culpret. I have flown a couple flights now and no issues. Hopefully this will be the final fix for me.

Will the L400 be effected with the static problem ??

To those who installed the anti-static pulley - did it work? I'd especially be curious about those who installed it and did nothing else, did not lube the belt, ground the motor, etc.

I had to ground the Logo 400 boom to the negative batt. as I had a few hits in flight.

I also get hits with my L400 and grounded the tail boom to the alum. motor plate last night. Need to fly it still to see if that has worked. If that doesn't fix it then I plan on also grounding it to the negative battery wire.

When grounding to the negative batt should I also keep the motor plate wire?

attach your motor plate wire, the boom wire and the battery neg lead together.

Recently it was identified to me by some good peeps at RH that they have experimented with simply running a spare servo lead from the rx to the motor mount, this has eliminated any issues they seen for static on the L400. Only need the one wire of course being negative. For security I have also done this, even though I did not see any static, sounds like a nice simple measure to do, just to be sure.

Hi!
I had some really bad glitches on my swash and than on the tail when flying my Logo 500 VStabi. Some really bad chicken dance in the air
I thought about installing a wire from boom to motor mount and battery. After reading about how RH solved the problem, I thought about connecting a wire from VStabi to motor mount.
Why? Because my receiver (R6014) is resistant against something like that, at least that's what the documentation says... and the only problem I had where functions controlled by VStabi

to clarify this is speaking of hooking into the rx, not the vstabi module but by doing this, it will ground the vstabi electronics to, just insert into an open channel, any one.

If recall it right, it shouldn't make a difference when using RX or VStabi, because both share the same negative line. Anyway, I'll try the RH proposal...

correct just in some cases easier to find an open channel, thus reason said to rx is all. But yes either is fine, just need an open slot :)

Connecting to the negative of the receiver using a patch cable is the same as going to the negative lead of the battery. It's an elegant solution. =)

Another opinion I got was that one should use a really thin wire or a resistor between the motor mount and the rest. If there's a short-circuit in the motor (which could happen) the resistor / thin wire should protect RX / Vstabi.

I sure look forward to the day when a fully-grounded tail is designed into the heli...

I have been flying my logo 5003D with Zpower motor for about 30-40 flights, no static issues yet,

I am now considering buying a 6003D - In reading all this thread about static discharge - is there a fix that has been agreed upon or that everyone knows works well. I am curious if there is a particular setup I should follow to not encounter static issues.

Can any elaborate?

Thank you,
Jeff

While I can see the savings in wiring here, is there any disadvantage in that the high voltage is going through the receiver this way?

With the continuous grounding, the static charge shouldn't build up.

Yes it is just ground is all.
