Hello again jay.ing:thumbup:

I have just done the same and went for the 600 Nitro Pro, (with the torque tube).

Basically what you need is as follows:

3 High speed/torque digital cyclic servos
1 throttle servo (some say go fast some say no need)
Gyro and tail servo I use a gy611 and 9256 on the tail
Governor (optional) I use the align governor, nice and cheap and seems to work well
2 in 1 regulator, provides power through the onboard bec to electronics and also to the glow plug for starting
2s lipo
Obviously a 50 engine
Main blades
Fuel
Starting equipment ie a High torque starter
Starter shaft
Muffler
Receiver

The list goes on and im sure i missed a lot there. These things are also very big when your used to a 450 so be sure to have somewhere planned to store it!

You wont be disappointed with a 600 though!:)

well if you have been flying for over 6 months and are very confident with your flying then get a TT if your new to the flying scene then you will want the belt drive, mainly if you scrape the tail on the ground then you will strip gears on a TT but on a belt it would hopfully just slip and not cause any damage...

Parts you will need to get her flying
1) Trex 600 pro or sport ( your choice ) - ( comes with fuel tank but not engine )

2) Os 50 hyper and muffler ( most popular engine.. either an align pipe or mp5 )

3) Reciever for your handset

4) Your selection of servos x3 for cyclic ( beginner something like 3152's for cyclic and intermediate to advanced Jr Ds8915 )

5) Your selection of gyro and tail servo ( beginner 401 with 9254 or intermediate to advanced Spartan ds760 Gyro with Jr Ds 8900g tail servo)

6) Curtis y Radix main blades 600mm

7) Flight box including glow starter, turbex 2 starter with standard hex starter shaft , either hand fuel pump ( better ), or electric fuel pump, 12v battery ( not a car battery to heavy, more like motorbike battery size ) , spare glowplugs

8) A 4.8v battery pack to power your heli or you can lipo it depending on how much you want to put into it....
if you want to lipo it you will need a flight power rx 7.4v lipo with the align 2 in1

9) Your choice of fuel around 15 % to 20 % is good enough

If anyone has anything more to add please do as I cant think of anything else

I think thats about it,

lot of it does come down to personal preference for instance you can run a budget servo set up for less than £60 for the cyclic, or you can run a fast top of the range set up for £ 240..

The big diff with nitro than bat is of course the engine, so I recommend the os50 hyper, thats a good all rounder, and the align muffler is good. You can use a 2 in 1 reg with a lipo, that will power you glow plug for starting, or you can use a regulator without the 2 in 1 or a nicad 4.8v . if you do that you will need a remote glow start..

If you have been flying 450 s you will be fine with the 600 it is easier to work on , not as fiddly as it all biger.

as with the pro again I would recommend it , looks nice and has some nice touches , but you can strip gears with ease with the smallest tail touch, as I found out to day came in a little quick all was fine but the grass was a little higher behind the heli , resulting in a tail blade hitting and stripped the front gears...lol. i was able to finish of the day was not to bad but made a funny noise after.... so thats some thing to think about... I would still go pro..

Nice job guys, but one thing that you didn't cover is the governor. I recommend getting one if you do any form of aerobatics. Even if you don't do any aerobatics, I would get the sensor and magnets in your 600n. It is much easier to put them in while building then afterward.

There are a lot of different governors/ limiters out there. Some of them are actual governors and others are limiters. (I would explain the difference, but you would probably be more confused then when you started due to my poor explaining skills. So I'll let someone else explain the difference.) I use the Multigov. It is a limiter and a governor. It is really easy to set up, has all kinds of settings, and is reasonable priced. Also, the customer service is awesome.

I would say good job to you guys as well, However I would put in the high $$ sevros now. Why go back and change them later, I got my setup the way I wanted it the first time around. The only reason that you wouldnt get the high end sevros is because you cant afford them. Either you wait for a little while before you fly or go with somthing else.

About the gov again I would install now just as the other guy said well he said put the sensor in and magnets good idea.

My two cents is set the heli up with the high end stuff if you can afford it, that way you dont have to make changes later.:YeaBaby:

I agree, I have always been a firm believer in buying the best servos I can afford to put in my airplanes/helis/cars. You get a cheap one and strip it or it doesn't have enough torque, and now you're buying a good servo, and you're out more money than if you'd just bought the good ones to start with.

buy what you can afford....then upgrade slowly...I made the mistake of charging $5000 for my 600n

I don't see how you can possibly spend 5K on a 600N setup even if you have nothing to start with.

I would like to know what you have in your 600 that made it 5k as well. Did you have stuff dipped in gold or what???

600N kit - 500
DX7/AR7000 Combo - 325
6965x3 at 85 = 255
OS Hyper - 190
G7703D/8900G - 240
Throttle servo - 50ish
Regulator - 65
Battery - 45
Governor - 100

There's just under 2K there...

Support equipment, another couple hundred.

5K? Must be dipped in platinum.

Pro- $500
Engine- $200
Pipe - $80

Ah, forgot about blades...

Where do you figure 500 bucks for upgrades? Metal grips, metal fan, swash upgrade, and frame stiffeners(the necessitys) don't come close to that..

i cant see how peeps are getting prices on their helis....dont most LHS jack the price up a little...each time i go to the LHS i spend the min. 300 dollars...

Gotta get a price list of all ma stuff...maybe im getting jerked by ma LHS for more money...but im a total of over 10k for 4 birds and im only building 2 that are going to fly. 450se v2 and 600N Pro. Can peeps give me a real price break-down of the best heli build bird...I'm a builder not a great flyer...Love to model build but only fly about 30 minutes every day with ma 450...haven't even fly ma 600 yet...still watching finless vids about 3/4 done...but scared to even try flying ma 600N...maybe dis summer with some help with local flyers...but im a type of person that don't like having peeps touch ma stuff...If i crash let me learn from it!

Had a very big problem long ago when i was big into rc cars 1/8 mugen mrx-3 (had 4 kits) spend something like 5 k or so and this guy who was the track expert mess up ma build with some tunning and i crashed...I learned ma lesson...

so now im learning heli from vids and DVDs and the internet and some of ma old friends from da city.

Wow not sure what tools you bought. and the upgrades for a pro I would tend to think would not be much more then 250 or so i dont know. Im also talking about the mixing arms and newer swash plate. Im not figureing in blades here i dont look at them as an upgrade.

I set my heli up the way i have it and with the radio it was close to 2500 but i got parts on ebay as well all nib. But i only paid 425 for my heli as well. Also im running a 2600 mah religon battery pack and a airzona reg.

But I guess if your payin for two helis and stuff and set them up with high end stuff i can see how you can get close to 6k on two birds.

But I would shop online if i were you save money that way.

Ok, lets break this down, sero's first, 1. Do i go digital or analog for the swash and if so which ones? 2. Throttle servo - whats the specs for this? i imagine it doesn't need to be hi torque!? Although i could be wrong!!!!

Secondly, Tail - what gyro servo combo should i get? I got a gy401 on my 450V2 would this be ok on a 600?

Im looking at getting the 600N Pro combo, I want to good stuff be i dont wanna spend mega bucks! So lets see what u can convince me to buy!

Heres what i use,

Cyclic Futaba 9452's
Tail GY611 + Futaba 9256
Throttle Futaba 3151

Seems to work well and the cyclic is really quick and will definitely be worthy of CRACK manouvers when im ready!

Right the GY611 and 9256 come in at $374.95
The 3151 was $34.95
and for three 9452's it was $239.85

That equates to around £325 the cyclics are great and the tail gyro and servo are absolutely spot on. I went on the thoughts that you dont need a fast throttle servo but others may get a faster one if they believe it makes a difference.

Defo go readyheli though, that lil setup bought in the uk would be around £600!!
