I am in the process of giving my Zoom 400 a face lift, spray painting the canopy and some other bits. I was just wondering if its ok to spray the main & tail rotor blades? Just a very light tint. Would this effect blade balance or have any side effects on the flight characteristics?

Cheers,
Wayne.

I guess depends on the paint. A latex or enamel. and how much you apply.

let us know how it works out. Post pics if possible

Are you talking woodies or fiberglass/carbon?
Woodies I would not recomend painting unless you paint over the covering.
Glass or carbon can be painted but you must first scuff the shine off of the surface.

Either way you must rebalance after painting.

The paint will have only a small effect on flight characteristics.
