I have Real Flight 4.0 and am pretty happy with it. The models and physics are sufficient (for now) for my level of flying.

I looked at Phoenix and was impressed with their graphics. Pretty is only a small part of a good sim. What about the physics, controls and most importantly, the support?

I would like to add this sim to my collection, but would it really be worth it or should I just stick to RF 4.0?

If you like to pay out the nose to upgrade your sim every time a new version comes out, by all means stick with RealFlight.

As the company's policy now stands, you buy Phoenix once and then get free upgrades. It's being constantly improved and new models and sceneries added, again free of charge (no purchased flight packs like RF). As far as I can tell from my limited experience with helis, the physics are pretty much spot-on to what I've experienced in real life.

Thanks Alan....Didn't know about the free upgrades.
I'll place an order in the morning.

All the criteria you mentioned is what is making Phoenix the new frontrunner in the sim world. Reflex is the only one whos physics come close , but the cutomer service and upgrades have made Phoenix the "hands down" winner. Hope to se you online flying soon!!:)

I have been a long time reflex XTR fan but I have just invested in Phoenix. As far as physics is concerned I can tell little difference in fact I think the XTR is more realistic in certain areas the Phoenix helis dont seeem to bog down like they do in XTR this is a thing that you really need to learn 'Mad 3Dz' collective mangement skillz.

Obviously you can tweak the models to make them more accurate but you first need to be able to fly so a newbie is not going to know this.

One thing I was dissapointed in was the audio its not on par with Reflex I cant comment about realflight, although the sacred BLADE FARTS are somthing Phoenix does have :YeaBaby:

I do feel the lack of a model editing package spoils it as well although this is partly going to be adressed with a painting add on from what I have been told.

I will still keep my trusty XTR but wont be upgrading to new version.

Cheers
Glenn
