First fly...middle of second tank. ..........disaster!!!!!

Although Iīm extremely meticulous and I have no doubt I used locktite on the screw holding the elevator arm ( the one between the servo and the swash, and is the pivot point of the collective control frame.

WELL........It came loose and the heli went full back elev directly towards me.....That was scary.
Damage brand new tail gears, main blades, bent feathering shaft, and a few links.

The scary thought is that IT DID HAVE LOCKTITE.
maybe i didnīt shake the bottel enough and got a diluded drop, or this srew is just too short.
I ended up buying a new bottle. Reloctiting ALL the critical srews, and changing this srew for an extra 4 mm in lenght.

If this is on the R90SE, you might want to consider green loc-tite for the screw that holds that elevator arm on.

Caution, there are two green Loctites. Green Loctite # 290 is designed to be used after a union is made. It is very thin. It works great in place of blue 242 on 3mm fasteners or smaller when applied before assembly like 242. Green Loctite # 680 is actually retaining compound. Among its uses is bearing retention. It is permanent but like red 262 Loctite it can be removed with the application of heat with a heat gun or soldering iron. I don't use blue on bolts smaller than 4mm I use green 290 because it holds better on smaller fasteners. If you use green # 680 in place of either 242 or 290 be prepared to use a lot of heat to get things apart. I have both 290 an 680 on my bench and I've made that mistake.

In addition to using thread locker bolts must be sufficiently tight. Part of my hobby is building and repairing helicopter for others (I'm retired) and I've been amazed at how loose some people put their machines together.

I don't screw in the screws too tight, no gorrila grip.

But one of the most important things is to degrease the screws before adding loctite. Screws are made with cutting fluids and oils, and this is greasy stuff that prevents loctite from sticking to the surface of the screw. I use white spirit and brake cleaner as degreaser.
