When I start the RF 3.5 SIM, heli loads and I'm ready to hit the reset button. But I do not wish to fly, but instead view instructional videos. So I choose that option. OK! But... when the video starts, I have 2 helis on the screen with the sound of the narrator garbled. How do I switch off the loaded heli so I can watch the instructional videos without interference? I tried everything, but I'm stumped or stupid. Maybe both?

So you mean that the sound of the engine is making the instructor's voice hard to hear? Try switching off your heli's engine by pressing the "k" key.

No! There are TWO (2) helis on the screen and sound coming from both with an echoing type narrator sound from the Inst. video. Weird??

Wait, two instructor helicopters?

If I understand you correctly, you see 2 helicopters on the screen - one is the instructional one, and the other is the one you would normally fly. You want to turn off the noise of your heli??

If this is correct, just use throttle cut / throttle hold - whatever the switch is called that you would use to practice autos. That should stop your rotrs spinning, cut off the noise of your heli, and allow the instructors voice to come through clearly.

That's what I did anyway.....

Hope this helps,
Steve

Well, hitting Throttle Hold will only return your engine to idle. Which is the same as lowering your throttle stick (in most cases on the simulator). So, pressing "k" is the best way to CUT noise from your own helicopter.
