Haven't been this excited since I built my 600N Pro
Have started the build straight away.(HOT DAM IT'S NICE !)
A combination of reading the instructions and watching Bob the builder's videos(Finless Bob)
My 2 1/2 year old son has been watching and helping as well.
I do see Bob's point on the self tapping ball link holes requiring some force to fit the balls, so I drilled the holes out to 2mm and they felt much better. A little thick CA on the thread and Bob's ya mother's brother.

First of all, congratulations! ;)

Are you absolutely sure that is a good idea?

The holes have the size they have for a reason. Personally I would never do that.

Best regards

ACK! I wouldnt have done that... scary! Self-tapping screws into plastic are known for losing their "grabbing" power over time... if you ever have to take the screws out of the parts you drilled, you should now replace them instead of re-using them IMO.

Thanks for sharing your experience with plastic and CA. But if you say you would never do that the I guess you have never tried.
Maybe the reason they done is that they stuffed up, it happens in manufacturing you know.

But why not follow Bobs advice, when it can be done without drilling?

Screw them in, unscrew them, CA them and screw them back in.

To remove material in such a critical place, is "dangerous".

Best regards and happy building and flying.

because by putting so much stress on the plastic by forcing the screw in is dangerous in itself.

Hi Carlos

When I first read your post, I thought that you removed 2 mm of material, but reading your post again, it seems to me as if you just "cleaned" the holes, to 2 mm in diameter.

If that is what you did, I will rest my case and agree 100 % with you!

yep that is what i did.
The hole size is now 2mm
Rereading my post I can see how it could be missread easily.
Test flew the 500 today. Just hovering , slow piros and a few climbouts to be easy on the new LiPo.
Fair Dinkim ! I love it !
AUW 1813g with the batterys weighing 413g and it is perfectly balanced.
