I noticed the drastic price drops on the mx400 series a month or two ago.

mx450 xs - $149.97 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMAE5&P=ML
mx400 pro - $99.99 discontinued http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLGJ8&P=ML
mx400 std - $59.99 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKXU8&P=ML

In my head I was thinking that this seems like a clearance sale ...

now I noticed that in the last couple days the mx400 pro went from "limited quantity" to "discontinued"

are there any rumors floating around about a new heli-max 450 size line?

I always liked the T-REX series better ... but for the price the mx series has been a great product

UPDATE: I just decided to poke around the x400 manufactures webpage http://www.arktaiwan.com.tw/
and I noticed an x500 heli http://www.arktaiwan.com.tw/07-x500.htm
I wonder if tower has any intentions of selling these here in the states.

Yeah I was thinking about buying another std mx400 after finally crashing my original one. parts would be more than the $59.99 they want for a new one... but If they may be gearing up for a new product I may hold out...

kinda wish I used a question mark icon for this post ... I was tired when I put it up

if we all can no longer (after a while anyway) get mx line parts, then it looks like the future for mx helis is trex upgrades. i know when i finally knacker my rotor head, i'll not be buying helimax replacment parts. not when i can get a complete copterx trex450 v2 clone head for $60 and a complete tail for $30. and a few people here have gotten those copterx clone parts and say the quality is good.

Today I Just received A new Tower Talk "issue # 1 * Good Thru February 29, 2008"

They have the newer MX400 series "web prices" listed on page 28.

I think they may have expected the discontinuation of the MX400 PRO before they had this printed as some of the info for the MX450 XS and MX400 PRO looks to be swapped around ...

The MX400 PRO picture is labeled "MX450 XS" (no MX450 XS picture in sight) and the price list looks a little out of order compared to the way they would normally list them.

I guess no one here has any insight to what tower has in store for the ARK type helis :-(
