The latest (first) issue of RC Sport Flyer (combination of the old Quiet Flyer and Sport Flyer, ne old 3D Flyer) has an ad for the 12X.
Short version - I WANT ONE. :)
Spektrum DSM2, 2048 resolution, extermely low latency, 50 (yes FIFTY) model memorys with model match. Quad bearing stick assemblies. Included PC Data Transfer. Similar rolling selector to the 9303. Accessible shoulder mounted momentary contact switches.
Two versions:
1 - 2.4 GHz only
2 - Module based 2.4 and 72 MHz. BUT the 2.4 module has the same latency and features (model match) as the 2.4 only version. And the antenna is integrated into the module so no unsightly wires. The antenna comes up between the case and handle.
If I can get my scanner working, I will upload scans of the ad.

If the have a timer linked to a stick, the ability to move the gyro off a hard channel (5), and a few other things I might consider it.
The 30 model memory of my x9303 should hold me for a while

Does this have the same balance issues as the x9303?

The picture shows the neck strap attachment at the same spot, so on 2.4, I am sure it does.

That seems to be the release date now. Soon, Very Soon, and Very Very Soon.
I have heard a couple of other companies make those same guesstimates.

In words from the movie Independence Day. "I have got to get me one of these."
The Spektrum and JR websites show Somenzini won the F3A world championships with a 12X on 2.4, so we know some units are out to the JR pilots.
The UK Macgregor website has some pre-release info on the 12x and it sure looks like it will have stick position switches.

Sorry Terry, it was there the other day, but it's not there now. Don't know what happened to it.

The 12X is out in Tokyo. I saw it available forsale in RC Champ, a shop in Tokyo. They had a couple of packages with prices starting at slightly under a $ grand.

How much is a X9303 2.4 in Tokyo?
I know lots of Japanese products are more expensive in Japan than in the US.
At close to a grand, I will just get a X9303.

They didn't carry the X9303, they carry the regular 9303, but did not look at the price. Believe or not, radio equipment are generally cheaper in Japan than in the states. Take a Futaba 12FG for example, you can get one here for about $860, and it comes with 3151 servos. Compare to $950-999 without servos in the States.
As for me I just bought a JR 770 gyro for $138.

If so, then the 12X is out of contention for me. :(
I was appalled at the prices of most camera equipment in Japan. Signifcantly more expensive than in the US.

The 12X is intended to be thier now "Pro" class radio. I think I read some where on RCGroups that the state side price will be in the $1200-1400 price range. It is certainly not for everyone, but I will have one.

Interesting, since the JR Japan site shows the 12X PCM to be cheaper than the 10X. And that is list price.
Basedon Japan pricing, the 12X could come in as low as $700 (Tx alone) or as high as $1000.
The $700 is based on the current street pricing of the 10X. The $1000 is based on the Japan pricing that has the 12X combo at about 86% higher than the 9303 combo. And with the X9303 as low as $529 in the US, that puts it right below $1000.
And these are based on street prices not "list" price.
But the X9303 list price is $999, available for $629 and discounted to $529 at some places. So the $1200 - 1400 "list" price, would work out to be $756 - $882 available for price, and $636 - $742 rock bottom pricing.
Hmm, both methods puts it in the same range. :)
So hopefully around $700. At that price, you will be seeing an X9303 2.4 for sale. :)

As for the lower cost that the 10X, the lack of a touch pad will go a long way to cut costs. just a guess though?

You don't really think manufacturing costs have that much to do with the price of the 10X, 14MZ and/or any other flagship radio, do you?:lol::wink:

Info up on the Horizon site:

I have had my eye on this for some time, just hope its as good as I am expecting.
Will be nice to just have one transmitter instead of two!
I was looking at what my 10x would be worth and I was quite shocked at how little it could be

More info:
http://www.macgregor.co.uk/radio/12X.htm
Initial pricing is listed as 899 pounds Sterling (=$1800 US), with Rx, but that is list.
OK, 9Xii with Synth Module and 4 x 811 servos lists at 480 pounds ($960). US price for similar is $999 list, $629 selling.
So, about selling is 63% of list. And the UK list and US list are pretty close. That would put the Tx/Rx combo at a US selling price of about $1100. $954 minimum price at some dealers.
I was hoping a bit lower.
