This is probably a stupid question, but I thought I'd ask it anyway ;)

On page H-14, it shows the screen for the dual rate and expo. Are the POS-0, POS-1, and POS-3 in reference to the three flight modes? I can't quite figure out what else those might mean.

Hi th3tick,

I believe you are correct, if you look at the first paragraph on H-15 Auto Dual Rate, it implies that the setting will follow the Flight Mode or Throttle Hold switch positions.

I've been experimenting with this in my sim. I like this feature of being able to set expo dependant on flight mode.

Cheers,
Leslie

See, that section confused me more. The picture shows an AUTO section on the right where they use the words "NORM", "ST-1", and "ST-2". So, why there yet POS-# on the left.

I guess I need to go play with it some...

Thanks,
John

Hi th3tick,

after you set you expo for pos 0 (norm) pos1 (st1) and pos 2(st3) go over to the AUTO portion of the screen. here you set NORM to POS0 then ST1 to POS1 and ST2 to POS2.

that way it follows your Flight mode switch.

I set my pos0 to +40, pos1 to +25, and pos2 to -40. This is expo only and just for experimenting in my Phoenix sim.

I too am still puzzling it all out :)

cheers,
Leslie

Thanks! Now it makes sense! I should have figured this out after doing the gyro, since that works the same way..

hi th3tick,

take this all with a grain of salt, I have not had time to test my theory :)

I'll be pinging you when I get to my gyro setting :)

Cheers,

I just hope you've got a 7+ channel receiver then. It only seems to work through AUX2 with their gyro setup. If you're using another channel, like you'd have to with an AR6100's Gear, it has to be set via Travel Adjust on that channel.

This is why I haven't yet tackled my T-Rex 450 yet...

I'm going to try and dive into all 3 of my 450s this evening. The 1st one should prove "interesting" as they've all got 6100s in 'em...

You just set endpoints on the gear channel to set the gain? Is it 1:1 or that oddball 1.4:1 ratio like in the DX7's gyro setup?

Since it's -100 to +100 instead of 0 to 100, I took my DX7 setting, subtracted 50 and doubled it. Not sure about the 1.4 bit applying here as well.

This was all late last night, so I decided not to test it out in my living room ;)

When I set up my 450, I started with 50 on the gain (gear endpoint) and adjusted down a bit to remove some wag.
