I understand the 500 comes with a combo ESC/BEC that is programmable for voltage ouput. Is this correct? If so, did Align provide a stepdown regulator with the kit, like they did for the 600, so I can have 6.0 volts for the cyclic servos and 5.1 volts for the tail servo? Thanks

I believe the stock Align ESC comes with a built in programable voltage BEC, so there is no need for a stepdown regulator.

The kit does not come with a step down. If you program the BEC for 6V and your tail servo can not handle 6V such as S9256, you'll need to get the step down yourself.

Thanks Kevin. That's what I thought. I want to make sure I buy one then. I already have all my servos, gyro, Y battery harness and balancer adapters. Just need the bird!!. Which I was told I have a good chance of getting one - the day after Christmas. Can't wait.
