Best flying is Flight #2. Though they are all very good.

So how is CG with the Kongs? That is 390grams in weight for the packs + the series plug and connector, likely rounded to 395-405gm up front, virtually around same weight as the FP 2500mah 25C small 6S brick. WIth that particular tr servo is the cg bang on or close?

Also was a voltage stepdown used for the 9254 or did you simply run a 5.5 Volt balanced to all?

Nice flying thanks for sharing.

I'm curious how much you used out of those packs Jason. Initial reported flight times in previous threads seemed a bit inflated compared to your 4-5 minute flights in the video.

Shawn, I must be getting spoiled by the Logo, that 500 seems louder than my 600.

Teacher eh?

Jason's in Las Vegas right now for a few days and is unable to make the original post. Thanks Victor, I'm in no hurry for a reply, I'm sure Jason will get to it when he can.

Hi there Jason,

I'm really curious about the total weight of the 500
in this setup, inc the battery pack!

Thanks, ron

Kong Power also has a 5s 3200mah pack that just arrived.

Flight times with the 5s pack should increase to roughly 6-7 minutes.

There must be something wrong with the setup. It sounds soo loud. Perhaps the pinion is too tight or something.

Sounds exactly like the test videos with Szabo Jr. I thought the same thing, but all of the test helis sounded the same.

From what Jason told me, he says the motor just makes a high screeching noise as normal.

sounds like a smaller 600 to me......

I talked to Jason recently, and he told me his biggest beef with the 500 was the dampers that come with the kit. I have heard some complaints that the dampers are extremely soft and sloppy which is a downfall to Jason. Hopefully someone comes out with upgraded dampers soon and it will be much more locked in! He gave the heli about a 7.5 the way it is out of the box, but with some new dampers he said it will be about a 9 or 9.5. He also did tell me that no heli is ever going to be perfect in his mind! HAHA :) :D

That's common with Align always crappy dampers , I don't understand why they can't make some good dampers and not the crap they make , Same thing happened with the 450 V2 and 600.

Ok so supposiitively this is JKs design, you telling me he did not see the downfall of the stock dampers on the 600 and 450? What the heck guys, do it right off the bat for petes' sake! Someone send Infinivation a request Stat!

that is an affirmative.... I am sure we will be seeing some trueblood dampers in the very near future.... someone will have them.

hi guys, just got back from a extremely foggy drive back home.

i took the vids down for a little whiles to further enhance some of the features, i will load them back up asap with some additional ones following these next few days.

yes, the align 500 flies very well, minus the semi-soft dampening. i may have had a solution thanks to bob when speaking to him on the phone which i will try in the morning. other than that, it's quick like a 450 yet stable like a 600.

the kong power packs surprisingly in series like that balances the helicopter nicely. i was afraid that it would be too nose heavy and it would not fit well under the canopy but it just clears and fits and balances nicely. i will be playing with a few different setups.

matt...im flying just under 4 minutes on those kong packs and am putting in about 1650-1750mah from those three flights i put in that day. going to try some different setups.

the gy401 and the 9254 tail do work nicely. while it is a new helicopter, i have no reference for weight so im not sure what it does to the performance of the helicopter, but it does hold the tail nice and solid. i did before i left for a few days, changed to a 611 with a 9256 tail. will try that in the morning.

other than that, there is alot of potential and look forward to playing with the helicopter more.

Oke, Thats clear Jason, Thanks.

Please keep us posted though about the weight of the heli
with different setups if and wen you can.

Bottomline for me is,
is this the ultimate tic-toc heli?

Personally I think putting in higher capacity pack
may do no dammage to the CG but will definitely
cut back the tic-toc performance!

Thanks, ron

i dont know if its the ultimate tic toc heli but im am going to play with some different some small setups and see how they go.

tomorrow if its not raining here in southern california, ill see if i can get some video up if it during some sequences of tic tocks to see how it does. 3 flights in last weekend, and then vacation, boy was it hard knowing i had one in the living room and i couldn't fly it.

Mayone one day I can also learn some DebianDog type of editing enhancement if I ever get a MAC!!!

Hi ****** witch cam did you use ? great quality vid :)

I'm using a Canon HV20 being edited on Sony Vegas 7. Funny that I even kick down a notch the resolution to make the video files smaller. You should of seen the originals.

Yes. Get a Mac. You compulsively buy blingy helis, so what's with the PC?
