In other Sims FMS Reflex XTR & AFPD..etc. I've always managed to tweak a models appearance by changing the BMP image thats mapped around the 3D model/mesh this way you can make the model in the Sim look like your own but I cannot open the BMP (bitmap) photos that are used in Phoenix these are obviously not the standard windows format as Photoshop and any other paint package refuses to open them.

Can anybody shed any light on this ? what format are the images anybody else managed to open up the images ? I assume somebody out there knows how this is done.

I have emailed Phoenix support and they have told me a package is being looked into that will allow model image editing but with no release date.

Anybody out there ? games gurus perhaps ?

Cheers
Glenn

Yeah, I also noticed this when I went to try to paint the Trex to try to look like my Dragonus :). Photoshop wouldn't open the BMP files.. Encrypted I guess, not sure why it's only going to effect you, and not anyone else. Games have let people do this for a long time...

Hi Devin

Thank you very much for your comments and suggestions.

We are intending to create a swap site for variants, recordings and eventually new paint schemes.

Reagrding the repainting the models, we are currently working very hard on a painting tool whch will allow you to repaint any Phoenix model in full 3D - more information on this will be on our website in the near future.

Best Regards

I think bmp files in Phoenix resources is "coding" to get better compilation with their 3D engine. As i see in AFPD sim, their tmt files contain some bitmap too, but there is a convert utility to get that graphics work.

I hope this utility release, soon.

Cheers.
