Mike, you need to edit your original post, the dates are February 15-16-17
I'm heading to the field this morning, Steve will be there and we have a club meeting and the FF event is on the list of things to discuss, you'll love the new field. We'll get the event info posted this weekend.

I agree, Ron's is going to be huge and a number of Florida pilots that usually attend the event will most likley be making the trip to Ron's.
I am still torn between the 2 events but then again there hasn't been much follow up or talk about the Port Charlotte event this year as in previous years.

Some of us have to work for a living , I just got back from a road trip and I'm packing to head back out Monday morning for a 4 day trip, then off to Melbourne, FL for two weeks.
The field is looking good as Will said he was down last month, Steve L. and I will be doing some work at the field tomorrow, large open area with the sun at your back and even a flight line for the FAI guys and a hover area for flight checks or for us to help the new guys out. Paul was at the field this past weekend so he and Steve are working on finishing everything up, this will be another excitting Florida event as it has in the past. Last year was a fluke so we are expecting some great weather next month. I'll get the GPS coordinates for the entry gate tomorrow, its only a few miles off I-75 on Route 17, if you remember where the field was 2 years ago it's on the same road only closer to the highway exit.

Rodney... I am not sure if HF will allow you to use that word in here.
One of these year I swear to god me or Ron need to move our event. He usually does no0t post anything on here so I did not even know we were be bumping heads until last year. Heck my CC company talks to Ron's business on a monthly basis you think we would work this out.

Steve,
FYI if it makes any difference. Ron's event has been on the same weekend since he started holding it back like 1997. I went to Ron's in 99 and 00. It was the same weekend then as it is in 08. The last one I attended in 00 there was about 160 registered pilots, don't know how many pilots were there that didn't register. The registration fee just assured the pilot a ticket for the raffle that took place at the store on Saturday night, It was really not a landing fee. That year Ron gave away probably close to $10K in merchandise from the store.
After that year, Ron decided he would tone the event down a little. All he really does to promote event is post the dates on this website.
The pilots that attend Ron's event know when it is going to be even if he does not post the event anywhere.
