I was putting on a Raptor 90 cut down CF boom on my Logo 600, and thinking, why not keep the boom at full length, get a new belt and have one heck of a light .90 sized machine..

probably gonna beat my E-stratuses with miles...

Hmm, worth a try perhaps.

Go for it, but be sure to let me know when you gonna fly it, I'll skip work and come looking! ;)

Btw, what motor/battery?

Ya, go for it Mate!

Would you be able to fit your 2x6s 5000 FP packs in the Logo 600 frames?

Cheers,

Nope, unfortunally not (well perhaps, but its _tight_), but I still got some 6s1p 3700's, for such a lightweight setup, they would probably do fine.

Basically, using the CF boom the weight of the heli without blades would be pretty much the same as a stock 600 3D, the extra weight will come from the blades, so + 120 grams or so there .

Battery wise the 6s1p 3700 vs 10s1p 4350 that I run now wouldnt be much of a difference.

Question is if the pinion and maingear is up for the task, and is the blade grips up for it.
could probably get on some metal blade grips from MA or Raptor though.
would be nice though to keep Logo since the VBar will fit right in :)

How about CofG - I found my 600 to be pretty tyail heavy and had to mount the Rx battery as far forward as possible to balance it - a longer tail boom would exacerbate this n'est-ce-pas?

Need to be tested :)

Oh my..

E-stratus v2 without batteries (with flybar, with RX battery): 4400 grams
Logo 600 - VBar with 600 blades without batteries: 2500 grams

So, If I add a PJ (about 180 gram more) and 120 gram more blades and a little tail (lets say 40 grams) I would end up with a .90 sized that weighs 2840 grams without batteries.

Mind boggling!

Honey, but I neeeed another one.

I am in the process of doing just that. Raptor booms are a little larger dia than Mikado. I am using a Vario which is 25mm dia along with a 770XL .025 belt. I cut the boom down to 810mm and using 700mm mains.

Fredrik, Nathan here on the freak "NTM" is putting together one right now a 90 size vstabi with Joker CF boom and he also found all the appropriate belts etc to accomadate the stretch, maybe shoot him a pm or something.

Yep, It's got a pair of 690 rotortechs strapped on it right now, just waiting for the cold weather to take a break and I'll get some numbers on it with the 32-3 max and 10s 4350mah 25c flightpower combo. Going to target 2000rpm on the head with a 18 tooth pinion.

I've high hopes, it shouldn't need crazy pitch to be quite hostile, we'll see how it is for flight times and pack abuse...

Nathan

I am happy to report that running a black belt in combo with the Raptor CF boom is static free, so far.

This is good news John, thanks for sharing.

The Logo grips are fine for the blade size and stiffer than raptor or similar grips! The gears hold up as well depends on the use. Bobby Watts style with 16 degs most likely not long. But I can tell you its an odd feeling flying such a light "thing" and you prolly wont like it for long. And watch the poor oneway!

Do you have the part # for that belt?

Thanks for the heads up Daniel, I've a set of v-blades 620's waiting should I not like the feel of the 690's.

Can always weight it down with larger batteries and get longer-then-nitro flyingtimes :)
