Hi all
I am currently in the process of modifying a stock plastic canopy
to use as a plug in order to make a mold (or perhaps several molds)
in hopes of producing a high qualty epoxy glass canopy.
If all go's well, I will offer these canopies for sale to those of you
who like to paint your own.
more details to come, if theres an interest.

I guess the purchase volume has to be high in order for the price of one unit to be affordable unless you are absorbing the cost of the mold which I think is a silly but noble thing to do.

Go For It , They Are Easy To Make, The Plastic Canopy Is A Great Plug
It Will Take Several Trys To Get Right , But Ive Seen It Done And If They
Are Done Rite They Look As Good As The Ones You Buy.

Well, I finally got the materials together to build my mold.
I produced my first canopy last week, I think it turned out pretty good.
I'll post pics as soon as I find my digicam.

Looks very cool...are you going to produce clear canopies too or just semi-opaque/opaque? I would like to paint from the inside...

The only way you could paint from the inside would be to spray a clear gelcoat in the mold, let it cure, then paint your colors on the gelcoat before you lay up the fiberglass
reinforcment.
My canopies are made to be painted on the outside, just prime, paint your colors, and use a good automotive clearcoat....simple

I'm officially interested in unpainted fiberglass Mini Titan canopies, and would be willing to purchase at least a couple, if the price is acceptable for the workmanship and quality. I have to say, so far, I'm impressed. Can't wait to see a final version.

Thanks!

looks great! Yeah like everyone else, my interest level is dependent on cost and quality... from the pics it looks like the quality is excellent! I know you have to make it worth your time, so let us know when you figure out the cost :)

The canopies appear to be of a quality equal to anything you could purchace anywhere else.
I've not come up with a final cost per unit as of yet, but I'm thinking somewhere around $22.00 - $23.00
plus shipping.
I'll probably set up an Ebay store and accept payment through Paypal.
The canopies will come pre-trimed except for vents and mounting holes. with minamal work to be done on
the seam, and a light sanding to take the shine off, you should be ready for primer and paint in a matter of minutes.
Thanks for the interest!
