bin the stock esky gyro mate its useless it doesn't work on the honeybee so how is it going to work on a belt cp.If you want cheap get the esky headlock gyro for around 20 quid it holds pretty good if you want a little bit more upbeat try a csm 301 smartlock gyro it rocks man around 70 quid its worth thinkin about cos it saves in crashed parts cos you dont have to think to much about the tail then you can concentrate on the cyclic more for your hover.

I have experienced that the Esky receiver does not play well with the stock gyro, The stock gyro is fine for hovering about if you set up the tail well. Some people I teach to fly who has Esky helis who are on a budget tend to use the stock gyro and get a corona receiver or an HDX single conversion with the corresponding crystal. The gyro works with other receivers well. I don't know why it won't play well with the stock receiver.

The stock esky gyro will not arm correctly if the rudder trim is not at center. re-center the rudder trim and it should arm,

I bought the new HH gyro for the belt thru helidirect.com. 38 bucks. It works great. I still get a bit of drift with the cheap radio that came with it. It should lock tight after I convert to the futaba 9 channel radio. The standard rate gyro was not that great. The part number for the new HH gyro is EK2-0704A. Also, Are all your trims in the center position? Throttle all the way down? My standard gyro would not arm if they were not centered. And also check the throttle up switch

Gun those E Sky gyros and buy a real one. Really you will understand if you do!!! If you don't want to spend lots buy the new Walkera it holds really well and is easy to set up. Also works well with computer radios. Get agood tail servo like a hitec 65mg and away you go.

Let's start with the basics -
Have you ever disconnected the wires from the reciever? If so, double check that each servo and the gyro connections to the reciever are correct. They not only have to be plugged in the correct channel, they have to be facing the right direction. If you don't have a manual let me know and I'll post the page for you.
The tail rotor servo has to be in the middle of it's travel and at a 90 degree angle to the servo case. If it's at the end of it's travel, when the gyro tries to center it, it will bind and the gyro won't setup.
Check and make sure that the antenna on the Tx is screwed down tight into the case.
Make sure the battery is unplugged.
Push the Idle up switch toward the rear of the Tx (off), center all the trims except the throttle trim. The throttle trim goes all the way down. Throttle goes all the way down.
The Hov.Pit dial goes to the 10 o'clock position, the Pit.Trim dial goes to the 1 o'clock position.
Turn on the Tx and raise the antenna,
Plug in the battery on the Belt.
You'll get a flashing light on the gyro and it can take 20-25 seconds for it to initialize and go to a solid light.
If it doesn't set up, then the next thing to check is the antenna on the Belt. Inspect it for breaks and make sure that it hasn't broken loose from the solder connection on the reciever.
If none of this helps, check back here and we'll try some other stuff.
Don't panic, take it one step at a time.
Oh, and make sure your battery is actually getting a good charge. If the battery isn't supplying enough voltage, the gyro won't wind up.
