I have been looking over quite a few setup up files and comparing settings for all of the different users out here on the forums. I find it very interesting on how much the files vary from user to user, I would have thought some parameters would have stayed much closer than others, and some that are very similar I would have guessed to be much different. The collective and cyclic comp being one due to power setups.
Personally I am flying my machine with what I feel is a rather modest power setup, but yet my collective and cyclic comp numbers are very close to those with 'HOT" setups.
I think the more we get out here and compare notes, the better it will be for us as the vstabi bunch.

I am suprised more files haven't been posted, it's like eveyone is hiding their cards.
You could build a spreadsheet macro that would average the numbers and compile a setup, or go for the average of the best 5 factory pilots.

Does anyone have a mapping for the XML register numbers to their function in the software?

The other variable here is the blades. Some are choosing to run 620 and much larger blades. This imo makes things a bit more interesting. Also, changing tail gear ratios adds another variable to the mix.
This is why I have chosen to keep with 600mm and have left the stock gearing in the tail. Still running 92/95mm blades. No 105's yet for me, I would like to explore more with the smaller blades for now.
This is one reason why I have stayed away from changing any of the fine tunning parameters of the vbar. Between Bobbys suggestions and some of my personal findings I have mine very close. Weather provided I will try to work out more detailed settings over the next few weeks as I will have more time to work with it.
Another thing to note, everyone has different tastes, flying styles and collective management skills. So what works for one, may not work for the next guy. IE. I tried expo the other day on my cyclic, it lasted 1 minute into the flight and then was out. I'm used to the settings the way I have them not using expo.
I have also found that I like the bird light. The 5350's kick a$$ for 8 minute flights, but when I put my 3300-3700 packs in, boy can I tell a difference. The big sky stuff loves the larger packs, it's nice to be able to mix it up with the 2 sizes of packs, you notice the difference after you fly 3-4 of one, then switch to the other.
What I would like to get on next is the "dead spot" or what I call a dead spot in the collective, feels like there is a bit too much around center with my current settings.
Anyone found this as well?

Well it is 20 below at the moment, lol so.... no flying or fiddling here. It is killing me to see you guys being able to fly and tweak! Mark my words, the minute I can fly, fly, fly and figure this all out I will post ever file with as much info as I can. Sorry I am not able to share much experience with the Vstabi as I can't do to much at the moment other than surf heli porn at night.:lol:

Ticidytoc,
I first tried a straight curve for pitch, but with the power of the 10S system I settled on a curve that is 0-25-35-50-65-75-100, a little less slope between points between 2-3and 5-6.

Ahh. interesting. Back with my 8 and 10s 600E's I had bumped point 2 & 4 (5 point curve) up to have more pitch to compensate for the soft feeling around zero. I am noticing the same thing here. Personally I am finding that I like a little "expo" in my collective.
I think I will play with the collective pump feature also after the storm blows through here this weekend.

Hi guys, Got my V-Stabi for about 3 weeks now and still try to get to know it better.
I want to turn off all cyclic sensing and only use it as a tail gyro. What parameter do I change? I want to feed all my cyclic input through the V-Stabi as if it was not there for the cyclic only.
Thanks.

Man that's one expensive 611 for your 500 Kevin.
As for turning things off, who says you need to plug in the swash servos into the Vbar ? I guess if you were to turn off the collective and cyclic comp and not plug the servos into the vbar unit.
I think your best bet would be to ask Ulrich over at vstabi.de.

The reason I want to connect it through the V-Stabi is because I want to put this setting on one of the 4 banks. I plan on going flybarless with my 500 but also want to fly stock with the flybar also. With some mixing I was able to select any of the four banks with a combination of the gear and aux2 switches on my X9303.
