Hey all... I didn't know quite where to post this... We had a thread started here, http://helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=22811 but it's gotten a little long and it's under the Futaba "Z" heading....
I just wanted to let everyone know the Screen Protectors for the Futaba 12FG are ready. http://www.rcscreenprotectors.com/index_files/Page937.htm
The 12FG was a complete new drawing and an entirely new die for us. We are very pleased at how it turned out. We had hoped the dimensions of the FG would be the same as the Z but no such luck. We had to start from scratch.
Cheers,

Be advised that those screen protectors are cut smaller than the screen. I contacted them and it is on purpose. I don't like how that looks.

Which one is smaller than the screen? I have a 12Z and had the screen protector from Bill on it for nearly a year. Can not even tell there is anything applied to the screen. From what I saw of the 14MZs they fit nicely also.

Well, the ones for the 9303 doesn't fit like that. And I emailed them and got a response that they make them like that so that they are easier to install.
I will email them back, because I am not happy.

Well I forgot which one it is. But either Bill or Chuck that makes the screen protectors. He owns and uses a 9303. So I am sure the had a reason for making it the way they did.
The 12Z screen is flush with the front of the radio. So they made that protector to cover the bottom half of the radio where the screen is located. There is cutouts for it to fit around the buttons and dial. Have to really look close to see that the protector is on front of the 12Z.

Hello all. Bill here. I had hoped to comment on the earlier but I've been out of town for a few days.
David and Laddy... Thanks for your comments and support.
As for the fit of the 9303 screen, please understand that the fit of this screen is EXACTLY as we intended it. That is, we do the engineering drawings for this and every screen to to 3 decimal places. We then include some relief. We found in the early days of RC Screen Protectors that without some-offset, the Protectors were very difficult to apply. Without some clearance, any misalignment results in the Screen Protector overlapping a button or the Screen Protector hanging off the edge. Typically that offset is 1/32" but varies from transmitter to transmitter depending on several factors. The 9303 is sized to fit exactly as David's 12Z and Laddy's 12FG.
I didn't want this thread to end with folks believing there was some difficulty with the 9303 die. That is NOT the case. The JR 9303 Screen Protector has been in our lineup for nearly year. It was one of the first Screen Protectors we added and it has been one of our best selling Screen Protectors.
With all of the above said, we are completely committed to keeping modelers happy. Chuck has been working with Pinecone to see that, in the end, he also is pleased.

Yeap, they have been very good in communicating and working with me.
But this The 9303 is sized to fit exactly comment is misleading.
It is sized with a relief of about 1/16" on my X9303 screen. My problem is that is is harder to install looking right with the relief because the eye picks up the uneven gap. And on my X9303 the top to bottom gap is slightly different than the side to side.
I would prefer it to fit exactly, but I can live with the way they have it.
But if they do a new die that fits exactly, I expect a nice discount on a set. :)

Well the quote could be they made it to fit exactly how they wanted it to fit.
I can see having the protector a little smaller than the frame that surrounds the screen.
Makes it easier to install and remove. Say it fit flush against the frame of the screen all the way around. You get the protector in place and find out there is dust under it. Then you want to remove it, probably would need to get out an Xacto knife to try and lift an edge to remove the protector. I also can understand your annoyed because you can see the edge of the protector.
Maybe Chuck can find a solution for you.

On the X9303 and XP9303 there is a SMALL gap between the screen and the frame. So you can get to the edge.
