Have finished putting my first bird together and would like any advice on throttle/pitch curves and Gyro settings for first time flying.Couldn't have got this far without "The Freak". Have become quite proficient at hovering and sport flying on RealFlight 3.5 and set-up is as follows,
3 x Hitec HS 82 MGs
JR DS 8900G Tail Servo
JR 77OT Gyro
Sonix 890 Kv Motor
Sonix 60 Amp ESC
Megapower 4S 4000mAh 20c
Spektrum DX7 with AR700
Will post some photos and results next week when on holidays as am working big hours over the next few days. Many thanks in advace and everyone have a safe and happy festive season.

I am also I new owner of these HDX500 SE with stock motor and ESC. And I am using the Throttle and Pitch curves I have on my T-rex 450 (Finless Bob's recomendation) on both normal and idle mode. I'm not sure if these are right set ups since I haven't tested it yet out in the field.
Will somebody tell me if these settings work with my heli.

IMHE, I found the 450 TC too mild. My stock motor did not like a linear curve at all and got bogged down . I then used a 0,70,85,90,95,100 and it was much better. I replaced the motor with a Hyperion s3025-10 and are now on 0, 60,75,85,95,100
TC is basically linear at 0, 40, 60, 80, 100 YMMV
What is your ESC programming?

My kit will arrive this week from TOAL. Will have some fun with the build and setup as this will be a first for me.
My set will be: HDX500SE
4s packs possibly Hyperion or Maxamps
Hyperion HP H3025 10 motor with Hyperion 80A ESC
Sportbec BEC
HS85MG on cyclic
Gy401 Gyro with S9650 on tail
DX7 TX with AR7000 RX
Cellpro 10S charger - supposed to arrive late Jan I hope.
I will need some help later with the bench set up and the TX set up.

All the best for the new year.
