Spectrum DX7 / G3.5 Set Up.......

Is there anyone that can explain how to set up the DX7 to work with the G3.5 in layman's terms? I know there have been posts (even currently) on this in the past and I've done the searches over and over again and I still can not figure out how to set it up. Also, the fact that no two posts are even close to being the same makes it even more difficult to decide who to believe and then still, it just looks like a bunch of numbers that I can't even find on the G3.5 pull downs. What am I doing wrong and has anyone done a video on how to program the system?

well I don't set mine up complicated since my focus is learning feel and moves. I've found if I setup a model on the DX7 as an aircraft I can fly choppers with minimal changes in setup/channels.. just me.. there are more complex setups that allow you to use your radio settings more. I just don't find that complexity to be relevant.
