Admittedly, I'm starting off very small in the realm of scale helicopters....but I wanted to have a bird for non stunt flying......

This is another of the nice styrene Darthdrk fuselages. I'm happy with the paint scheme.....I looked at hundreds of photos online until I found a bird to model this one after. I had a mishap with an attempt to use clearcoat, it wrinkled the paint on the front of the fuse and I had to sand it down and repaint. It doesn't look too bad, but it came out a touch darker than the original color on the rest of the fuse. Test flew her today and it was fine. It's a mongrel TREX450 made out of spare XL and SE parts and is not up to any 3D with a tired 430L motor and 11T pinion, but she only needs to scoot about....

An update.....

I had a "little problem" when trying to apply a clear coat over the paint. It wrinkled the finish on the front half of the fuselage. :arggg: I sanded it down and repainted, but it came out a shade darker than the rear. I have another fuselage if I decide to do it over.......anyway -

I based this on a German Long Ranger "D-HASA". I just liked the paint scheme. I was searching for something that was kinda corporate looking and I came across that heli and liked it. I took a few liberties, but it's all in fun for me.....I added a few decals and a tail LED....here's a little vid....

Flies good and looks kinda cool in the air...
