OK so ive finished the build on my new 600 and have decided to go with this governor for now until im ready for something a little better.
I have the gov gain on the Gear channel on my DX7 and need help setting it up. I have looked at numerous posts on here about this gov and none of them have the setup i am going for.
I want a simple setup of on or off with a set headspeed using my gear channel, anyone know how to do this?
When i toggle my gear switch i get the light changing colours but the throttle servo doesnt go full when i switch?
Any ideas??

If your testing it on the bench, when the engine isn't running, the gov will not work. If your testing in the field with the engine running, and it's doing what you described, then you need to post you radio settings.

If you have it setup to run on ATV's then you're going to want to change those to something around 0, and + 50 as a starting point. 100 will be WOT.

yeah using atvs, thats the problem though, does the 1 atv need to be set at 0 and the other at the atv for the relevant HS?
Thanks

You're gonna have to be a little more specific. What exactly do you mean... Shoot open?

well i would of expected the servo to travel to full open to maintain the headspeed?
When i turn the gov on i mean?
Thanks

The governor doesn't kick in until your throttle channel is open 30%.
The end points you want are +80 and -100 giving you OFF and 1880 headspeed.
Assuming you have 0 pitch at midstick, put a straight throttle curve on and spool the heli up in the garden. By the time you get near midstick, you will see the gov kick in. It needs the magnets spinning to sense any headspeed, no headspeed means no control.

My DX7 gives a positive when the gear switch is flipped up and a negative when it is flipped down. Is there a way of getting it to work the other way round?

Yes, reverse the channel. The +80 is governor on, so reverse it to make flipping the switch down turn on your gov

FYI I leave my governor on all the time. Thus I have it on the Aux channel and up is gov on so I start with all my switches upwards.
I don't see the point in turning it off, as part of the joy is not having to set up perfect curves. It's good to have your curves set in case the gov fails, but if you have it installed, use it all the time.

yeah i plan on using it all the time but i want to be able to use it to get all my curves as close as possible:thumbup:
