HI freaks ..Anyone using the 8.73 gears with a Gv1 ? I put them in and changed the ratio in the GV1 to 8.73 and it actually seems worse than the stock gears , (head bogging with 620 's). I wonder if your supposed to leave the ratio at 8.5 in the GV1 ?

The ratio has no effect on the actual operation of the governor its only used for display purposes.

So if you have the wrong ratio then when the display shows that your head speed in idle up is 2000 rpm and you change the gears w/o updating the gear ratio in the governor, then the display will say 2000 but your actual head speed will be 1950

What head speed and how much cyclic are you running?

Also do you have any cyclic to throttle mix?

Thanks hockey , I'm running 2000 Hs at +- 10 with no mix. by the way what does that mix do ? I remember seeing it in the menu ( 9chp)

If you have the super just go in and enable the SWASH-THR mix. When you give cyclic you are adding pitch which puts a load on the head, much like adding collective, but with collective the throttle curve takes care of adding power. This way the mix adds some throttle when you give cyclic, set it for about 30 percent.

Others may say if you have a GV you don't need it but if you experement you will see that it helps the governer stay ahead of power demand, the GV1 is on the slow side so the closer your throttle setting is to whats needed, the better it works.
