I talked with both Larry and Jason just last week and they said the are planning on attending along with Curt. Troy and I are planning on going to Heliproz on the weekend of May 20th. We are going to show them how to fly again, so when they come to Bismark they won't sit around all weekend not flying.

Buffalo, yes, lots of them!
Beans, no, but if we can talk Streitberger into coming up maybe we'll quick grow a patch for him!
HeliProz guys are coming, we'll have to find a place for a bonfire for Kurt and Larry or they might burn someones camper.
Tony's been ON FIRE this spring, wait till you see him Bling!! Unfortunately his rappy 50 tangled with the ground on Friday out at heliproz and he'll be doing a little work.

Ok gang,, here's the directions to the field.
Coming from the East on 94 take the Menoken/McDowell Dam exit #170.
Head South 1 mile to Highway 10 (follow McDowell Dam signs). Head west
5 miles to the Dam turnoff. Go north approx 1 mile, you will see signs
directing you from there.
I look forward to seeing you all again!!
cheers,,
Troy

You guys better get her out there and make her have fun! Tell her this might be the last nice weekend of the Summer, she'll believe it.

Go get 'em, Honey!

A very popular fraze that was coined at one of the previous Skids Up fun fly's was 3D hovering. We will have her doing the best 3D hovering of her life.

Well the weekend was a great success and I know I had a excellent time. Thanks to the organizers and sponsors! I certainly learned a lot and made some friends and mentors to help me out as I get started in this hobby! Here's a few pictures for those poor saps who didn't make it and also for those who did. It definately lived up to the name!

Ok, back to the computer, tired and sunburned!!
It was a fantastic weekend, Friday was 75, sunny, 5mph wind from our backs. Lots of fuel burned and lots of fun. Sat was scattered showers but mostly flyable, the evening got VERY nice, sunny, no wind, basically we all flew until dark, then the night flying started!
Today was another perfect day, lots of sun, 78deg, LOTS of flying again.
I know WhirlyGirl had lots of fun and learned lots. We tried to get her rappy back in the air but were misssing a silly servo gear set. Jason and Tony showed us how incredible a TRex can be, Andy showed some remarkable flying as usual, this time with a 3DNT and the electric version. We had lots of fun with the drop off, there is lots of video of Mike, Tony and Troy taking advantage of the extra airspace. We'll get it posted as soon as we can.
All in all, it was a super weekend. Eric Larson had some plane scheduling problems so we didnt get to see him fly but I got some smack layed down with my Stratus as a backup (albeit not near what he would have done!!). The Bling Wings were absolutely incredible! We had a huge bonfire last nite with the wingfeed and nightflying.
Hope to see you next year at the bigger and better 4th annual!!

cheers,,
Troy

Back home, safe and sound.

I just have to add that I had TOO much fun this weekend. I want to thank all the AWESOME guys who jumped in and helped me make the most of this trip. You gentleman did everything from help me set up a camper (my first time) to answering all my annoying questions to even trying to dig up every part needed to get my Raptor back in the air after my encounter with Mother Earth. Guys were on their cell phones calling hobby shops and friends trying to find that 9254 gear set for me!!! Man, I couldn't ask for better buds in this hobby. You guys are A++! :noteworthy

I learned so much and I'm looking forward to my next ND/MN fun fly.

I should have mentioned it before, we had a visit from a full size blackhawk that did some hovering right over the ridge and a flyby. A very nice surprise for us!!
