I don' t write many post on this website but this deserves one! I had a really bad crash about 2 months ago that ruined my MP5 pipe and obviously my Radix Blades. I've been flying heli's for almost 2 years and I do pretty hard 3D and when it came time for the rebuild I deceided to finally splurge and upgrade to the Vblades and I replaced my MP5 with a Align Pipe. All I can say is WOW, I am not talking a little bit of difference I am talking about a HUGE difference, it felt like I had the power of 90 size machine and the agility of my rex 450. This thing freakin spins and flips, and tic tocs like no other. My setup is a YS 50 and I am running the CY gov with the rpm set above 2k. I felt like I just bought a new heli, 3 products defintely worth talking about!

I started with V blades and an mp5, but I had to drop the engine because my engine nut became loose. So I decided to try an align pipe. Also, I bought a pair of align D cf blades because I sent my V blades back because the label that said V blades came off. Anyway I put the align pipe and align blades on. WOW!!!!!! The engine woke up! I went from not being able to do 2100 to doing 2100 and the enigine wanting to do more. So when I got my V blades back I put those on. The performance of the V's wasn't as good as the align blades! The align blades tic toc way faster, and bog less. My vote is dump the v blades and get the align blades.

I tried a set of aligns when i first got my 600e a year ago. Once they came out with what seemed like 50 different versions then they had problems with some I said too much work to figure out whats what unless you can give me quick overview of the different types and the differences. I know the difference between CF and GF but thats about it, I don't know what the differences are in the lettering. Thanks in advance.

There are 3 different types of Align blades, the "A", "B", and "D".
The "A" blades weigh a lot, and those were the blades that fling the weights. I strongly don't recommend purchasing the "A" blades. I don't think align makes the "A" blades anymore.
The "B" blades came after the "A" blades. I believe the "B" blades weighed a lot less then the "A", but weren't as stiff as the "A". The "B" blades weigh 250g/set which is about the same as the V blades.
The "D" blades have the stiffness of the "A" but weight of the "B". The "D" blades weigh about 250grams/set. Also, the "D" have a different airfoil then the "B".
(I called Frank @align usa about this a while ago. This is from my memory. Correct me if I'm wrong.)
I have both the V blades and the Align "D" blades. I like the align "D" blades a lot better than the V blades. The align "D" blades don't bog the motor like the V blades do when doing tic tocs. As of right now I think V blades are a giant waste of money and don't perform as well as their competition's blades.
Don't V blades have a satisfaction guarantee?

Wow, great description, thats exactly what I was looking for! V Blades do have a satisfacation guarantee, i guess i am going to do a little research on these "D" blades.

You should try a pair of Align "D" blades. Make sure that you get the Carbon fiber type. I believe they are around $80.

My 600N pro was shipped from Ready Heli but I didnt receive it yet.
I ordered 1 set of Rotortech 600 blades with the kit.
Any ideas about these blades???
By the way where can I get the Multigov?
I have read a lot about it and I dont know if I realy will need it, But I want to get one anyway :)

V's are the nutz! Some people prefer the softer feel of the Radix but I like em stiff like the V's. If you have no collective management, YES they will bog the head, because THEY BITE the air.

I'm no pro, but there must be a reason that virtually every sponsored pilots run v-blades. And I really doubt it's because the Align blades are better;)
That said, if you're going to use a set of Align blades, and they have weights in them, run a magnet on the leading edge and see if there's a safety wire that runs the length of the blade. A set of glass fiber ones I had threw a weight and destroyed my heli. Fair warning:D

I bet the reason every pilot flies V blades is because V blades sponsors them. So if V blades sponsors them and gives them blades at a discount or even free. Why sould a pro go out and find other blades. ;)
Part two. If V blades get all the "hot shot" pros to use their blades. Then everybody else will think "WOW! Alan or whoever uses V blades. I want some." So basically what I'm getting at is that this is a marketing strategy so that V blades can charge $115 as aposed to their competition charging $80.
Just my 2 cents,

What type of align blades flew apart on you the A,B, or D?

I don't buy that argument.
A pilot who wants to WIN BAD is going to use the best stuff regardless of what he's offerred... Hence you don't see Align pilots using any Align blades.
As for the higher price, they're made in the USA as opposed to Taiwan. The costs are likely higher and hence the higher price.
Plus, I've never heard of a v-blade throwing a weight in flight either;)
Either way it's a moot point for me as I don't fly in a manner that would reveal the differences.

They were 600A glass fiber blades.

ok the A blades had a problem. However, I have never heard of the "B" or "D" series slinging weights.

Oh oh I see, because I can't fly like you, my opinion is invalid:roll:
Fair enough. I won't challenge your expertise any further.

Look, I'm stating my opinion on which blades I like better, and why I like them better. I'm not try to flame or whatever the term is on here. You came on and attacked me about how my opinion is flawed and/or wrong.
This happens to me a lot on here. It seems whenever I go against the gain on here somebody will attack me and tell me that my opinion is wrong.

We can agree to disagree it is a matter of choice. I know PRO pilots that hate to fly anything but V-blades and other just HATE them. Just a preference.

I've noticed that the V-TST blades create a lot of noise as compared to the Align CF, D series blades. Doesn't noise translate to less efficiency? Thought the TST blades were suppose to be mega efficient. Also, purely from an aesthetic point of view, the V-Blades look pretty bad with a molding hole in the leading edge and with an imbedded V-Blades label that de-laminates and falls out of the blade after a few flights. For $115 a pop, you'd think they could make a good looking blade, at least as good looking as the $80 Align blades.
As far as pros go, all the pros I know fly whatever they are paid to fly or whatever they get for free. Doesn't have anything to do with what's the best has to do with how much Bank they can get. After all, didn't Alan Szabo Jr. use to win a lot of competition using a Crapter 50?

I wasn't trolling. If I wanted to troll, I'd write some things that weren't true.
