I used to fly helis (no 3D) about 20 years ago and plan to buy a Logo 600. Now, reading about the flybarless stuff makes me curious and I would like to know if I should buy the heli with flybarless rotorhead?
I already have a AP2000i which I have used for fixed wing. I also just bought a DS760 gyro.
I intend to fly it with the IR sensor.

You don't need to be a pro. The main advantage to a flybarless head is the crisp cyclic responsiveness. If you're not into 3D, you may not need or like how the flybarless head responds. The nice thing is, you can tune the responsiveness of a flybarless heli much more quickly than a heli w/flybar.
If you wish to use the AP2000i for flybarless, you'll need to have 2 gyros capable of analog signal. The AP2000i is not currently configured to processs the digital signal from the ds760.
Still a great gyro for the tail!
