OK if folks are having problems with cookies and helifreak e.g. read posts still show up as unread, etc. then read this and make sure you are not blocking cookies. This tutorial is for I.E. 7 but may also work the same for I.E. 6.

First thing is while on the web site look down at the bottom of your browser and look at the little eye icon fore "Privacy Report". If you don't have that then go up to you menus and find the "Web Page Privacy Policy" menu choice

OK once on the Privacy window look at what it says is being blocked. Make sure at the top you have the pull down set to "Restricted sites". If www.helifreak.com (http://www.helifreak.com) is showing as blocked or the IP address 75.126.136.127 (used for attachments) is blocked then we need to unblock it.

Click the site showing blocked and then click Summary button. On this next screen, set the radio DOT to "Always allow this site to use cookies: and click OK button. Repeat this for any helifreak or that IP address.

OK additionally we can set a global that allows this should more show up later for Helifreak. back on the previous screen click the settings button

Then on the next screen for the Privacy Tab click the "Sites" button

On the next screen we should add Helifreak and the IP addess 75.126.136.127
Type them in at the top and then click the "Allow" button. It should add them to the list at the bottom.

Hopefully this will solve any cookie problems you may have. let me know if it does please. It certainly did for me.

In desperation I went to the Kids Windows box and I still could not reproduce the problem with Firefox, if I cleared my authenticated sessions at the end of every logout... With IE 7 I was able to reproduce the problem but I was able to fix the issue with the suggestions stated above.

I even made a video of it that you can download here. (no cookie attached since it is on my server not HF) (http://danslagle.com/data/HFcookies.wmv)

Watch this new FireFox Video (http://danslagle.com/data/CloseFF.wmv)

The Problem is Authenticated Sessions in FF not Cookies

The fixes DO NOT WORK if you do not CLOSE Firefox.
