I bought 3x Futaba s9255s for my Logo 600. They came with the usual rubber grommets + metal insert, but the mounting screws that came with the Logo are too big to go through the insert.

Solutions include

using the screws that came with the Logo, but losing the sleeves (perhaps add some washers to go between the screws and the grommet)
using the servo screws, but adding a plate behind the frame for the screws to fix into.Given that you need to use spacers for Futaba servos there isn't much left on these screws, and I might need to get new ones. I'd prefer to use method 1 if it's not a terrible thing to do, as it would be less fiddly and should hold the servos pretty secure. Presumably vibration damping is less effective if you don't use the metal insert?

Or will the threads eat through the grommets, and cause my heli to plunge to the ground on its maiden flight?!

On one of my 500s I used 9252 servos, use the grommets but not the inserts. Use a washer on the top and they'll be perfectly fine. And as per the manual use the plastic spacers behind the fron servos, cheers. :)

I didn't use grommets or inserts. Just the Logo mounting screws and washers. Nice & solid, no way it can move in the air!

Its an old chestnut - whether to grommet or not - whether to use the sleeves - common wisdom is that the inserts are only really helpful on nitros where vibration is much more of a problem - as to the grommets that's a personal choice - I do as it fills in the space on the case mounting and make sure they're not squashed when you tighten down on them.

Thanks all for your help. I'm feeling a bit sheepish as I assumed this was just a Mikado problem (poor choice of servo screw) and found quite a bit when I did a search.

I've ordered some servo clamps to deal with this problem.
