I have an older ex-cell gas. I have been flying it for over a year and would like to know if anyone has any info on how I can get more power from the stock engine (G-23). I flying 690 blades at 1800rpm. pitch is from +8 1/2 to -8 1/2 I'm just getting into 3D flying. seems like the engine runs out of power at full pitch.

If I remember correctly I think the suggested rpm was 1750 for that model. It would seem like your out of the power band of the engine is one of the reasons the engine is not producing any power.
The G23 was not as a high reving engine as the current models of Zenoahs.

Do you know if any of the new Zenoahs will fit into my helicopter?

Are these (231, 260) newer engines made by Zenoah for helicopter's. Do they operate at the rpm needed to run head speeds of 1800 or faster? Thanks for your help

You running the stock 6.43 gearing on your Gas Graphite?

I'm running a 231 in a pred gasser 6.9 gearing, spinning 720mm blades to 1850 rpm, and +/- 11 deg with 6.5 deg cyclic. It goes :)

If I install a new G231, should I also change the gear ratio from 6.4(standard) to 6.9? Also will I gain by going to 700mm blades?

I'd say, and this is my opinion, but try it witout a gear change first. And 700mm will be no problem at all. I'm not familiar with yoru machine, so keep boom length etc in mind but the engine will have no probs with 700's

The stock XL Graphite gasser can use 700 mm main blades with 100 mm tail blades with no problems. This is with the 31.5 inch boom that came stock on the gasser. If you want to go to longer blades than 700mm, you would need to change the boom and torque tube and push rod out to the 33 inch boom. The 33 inch boom will allow up to about 740 mm main blades with 105 mm tail blades using the stock gasser rotor head.

Is the G231 that much better then the stock G23. I will most likely switch anyway, Just wondering what other people think.

What advantage do I get by going to 700mm blades?

Puts more load on the motor which the gas engines seem to like.
Also gives more lift area which is a benefit in flight and autorotations.
