has anyone noticed the Solid G being sensitive to temperature changes! Mine seems to be so in a very noticeable way.

Most all gyros I have used are affected by extreme cold. I don't see a reason that the Solid G would be any different.
Here is operating temp range for GY 401
• Operating temperature range: -10°C to +45°C
All the sensors are going to be affected by extreme cold or a drastic temp change that happens quickly. For example like going from a warm vehicle to below freezing temps without allowing time for it to become acclimated.

Just seems like it is more sensitive than the 401. Stabilises relatively quickly on the other hand!

Here in Israel, usualy it is very hot.
Lately, we having a cold wave, something like 5 degrees Celsius on the ground and even colder while flying.
We never had any problems with th Solid G Gyro. Very accurate and stable.
maybe you having a setup with your heli. check that the tail mechanism is running smooth.
Best Regards,
