My new mx450xs looks beautiful !! but when test flying it i notice that it has a slow , short but constant wag to the tail . and when i gave it a sharp tail input it started a larger more violent wag i sat it down adjusted the gyro gain down and test hovered it again and it was still showing signs of a small slow wag !
would i be correct is saying that a slightly stiff tail setup and a tail servo that does not quite have the umph !! im currently running a ds285 on the tail and i am thinking that maybe putting the hs81 and changing the tail shaft to a smoother align shaft may help the issue ?? anyone have any input ?? :dontknow i will post a video on here in a few minutes that will let you see kinda what its doing !

i had the same issues. here's what i did. i removed the tail rotor shaft and buffed and polished it to a shine. that black oxide coating sucks. once that's shiny i use silicone shock oil from my lst2 (15 wt) and it's butter smooth. also, use a carbon fiber rod in place of the thin wire linkage and move the tail servo on the boom. those made the most difference. if those don't work (but it's good to do them anyway) then you could try moving the tail pitch link in on the servo arm, i run mine on the closest hole. you'll need to up your epa and probly dual rate too after moveing the link in. lastly, headspeed was a big factor in smoothing it out. i upped my throttle curves a bit and put a 15t pinion on it. after four months and all of that stuff she flies perfect now.

well after sitting all winter i pulled my mx out and tinkered with it . still cant get rid of the wag I have a feeling the tail servo isnt good enough so i ordered a s9257 i think that should have enough power and speed to get the job done . if after changing that out i am going to assume that the gyro is damaged from last crash . seems like the only thing it could be ! we will see !!!! :arggg:

Good Morning..
I have the same issue with my 401 setup. I use the DX7 and when this occurs I just rebind the radio / rec and it stops the problem for awhile.

Hi,
did you recalibrate and choose the digital in the 2100t config... I made this mistake when I changed from analog to digital :o.

OK WOW !! I think I just had a heart attack !! I took my heli out for a test hover im holding a nice hover and i see the tail linkage fall to the ground !!! but oddly it did not go into a mad piro it stayed long enought for me to kill the power and land . went inside and changed my shorts:BSS and fixed the tail . I must have forgot locktite on the tail leaver
