I am fortunate to have picked up a great deal on a 9Z from Racer38 (Thanks Craig !).
Anyhow, as I'm programming it for my EVO, I notice that the throttle stick has less resistance than my old trusty 9C. Now, I know you can adjust the spring tensions for the other gimbals, but can the throttle stick feel be changed ?? I like a little "stiffer" throttle if possible :)

Yes the tension on the throttle/collective can be changed. Not sure if is something you will want to attempt yourself. You will have to take the back off the radio and couple of the PC boards out of the radio.
Most of the pilots that I am around seem to prefer the stick tension a little looser and operating silky smooth.

Thanks for the scoop David. Maybe I'll just try to get used to it :)

Johnny,
Not necessary to remove the PC board entirely...you can remove the back and bottom plates to access the insides, and remove the three screws (two on top, one bottom) holding the big board you see. With the cables still attached you can lift the board a little out of the way and access the metal throttle retent arm easily. You can bend it a bit to increase the friction or (as I did) to decrease the friction, as you like. Not hard to do at all, takes maybe all of 15 - 20 minutes.
Cheers,
Ken

You don't have to remove anything except the rubber grips on the back to get to the tension adjustment screws, (Read the Manual) Page 21 in the PDF

Johnny I would get used to the smoother throttle. I bet it will make your flying smoother. On my 9c I have the sticks as easy to move as I can. I like the sensitive feel to it. :badair:

FWIW, the throttle can't be adjusted by taking the grips off :( All the other sticks tension that adjust via spring can though.
Thinking of switching to JR now anyhow :glasses2:

And here I'm wanting to go to Futaba.
9303 is not what I want, but that's what I got... :)

Not happy with the governer menu, and switch assignments. Other than that, it's a great radio, with no problems communicating to the flight pack.
