What are all the problems they are having? I have seen reports of a couple of incidents if that is what you call all the problems.

Go look at the threads on RC Groups. I returned my T7C to my LHS. I will continue with 72mhz until this stuff gets sorted out.

Yes I have read the threads. Go to events, there is plenty of Futaba 2,4 ghz being used. This just was the problem with a few isolated units. If you look here on Helifreak you will see that Krysta from Hobbico even posted the service advisory here.
It takes about 10 seconds to check a transmitter or module. There is a lot of hobby shops that have the equipment needed to check the units now. Also Hobbico has checked all the units they have before they are shipped to dealers.

I just got mine and i love it (7C FASST)! I personnally find that the DX7 looks cheap compared to Futaba's... A friend of mine also just got a defective TX DX6i out of the box with his Blade 400 kit... Lasted 3 batteries then started major glitching! Now returned on warranty, we'll see how that goes...

Yep and still only two of those reports have come from people with first hand knowledge. The rest are I heard, they said, I read somewhere, my buddies friend;s friend told us.

For the record I have personally discovered this week 3 people here in the UK including myself with 6 channel Fasst transmitters that have the problem of the GUID being reset all zeros. The other two people concerned discovered the hard way when they shot eachother down last weekend!! They both had complete control over eachothers receivers. The transmitters were bought at completely different times (months apart) and different places etc. so the likelyhood of them all coming from the same "batch" seems remote.

In my case I should have realised that something was wrong earlier,as a couple of months ago I had to rebind the receiver i.e it was expecting the original transmitter factory set GUID which had somehow reset itself to zeros. This happened after having had the set for about a month. I've happily been flying in the meantime blissfully unaware of any problem since none of my flying collegues have Futaba 2.4 gear.

All of sets concerned are going to be replaced via the importer, though I've been advised with the new set not to switch if on and off in quick succession in case the same thing happens again... ?????!!!!

I've had excellent service from Futaba gear for the last 25 years and would recommend it to anybody but this incident makes me feel a litttle uneasy.

Obviously I don't know if this is a widespread problem or not, but my advice would be if you have ever had to rebind a receiver treat your set with suspicion and get it checked out just in case.

Cheers

Ok, ok, damn it !!!, my 7C 2.4 is in it's way, probably I will have it tomorrow at noon. I live in Mexico City and I think there are not a lot of 7C's around here and the question is: how can I check by myself if it comes with that damn problem?

Any help will be very welcome.

Thanks

Where did you order the 7C from? Hobbico/Futaba checked all of there stock. Also there is serial numbers listed on the service advisory that might have been affected.

If your worried about Zero Guid and want to check it. Just buy a spare receiver. All 2.4 ghz receivers you buy separate have no ID in them. So all you have to do is plug a battery into the reciever. Then turn on the tranny. If the light on the receiver flashes. Your transmitter is fine.

I have recieved mine. 7CH 2.4 with out servos or reciever battery.
Got it from Tower Hobbies.

I figured out how to get one ,
you call them every day and ask if they are in stock,
tell them you will buy it only if it ships out today otherwise you are not interested.
They will send you one ....that is how i got mine.

reason is they are attempting to fill the largest orders first (hobby shops across the nation are stocking up) so they try to get you to "backorder" yours.

I placed an order with Tower Hobbies last night. I ordered a 7C Heli 2.4Ghz w/no servos. I used the 25.00 off code etc. Shows up as in stock and shipping. I had a hard time finding the set listed on thier site with no servos. I actually had to get the page link from RC Universe. I have a lot of confidence in Futaba. $263.00 delivered. Cheaper than the first 4 channel set I bought 30 years ago.lol

Lots of Futaba 7C's here at the Birmingham event this weekend. No problems. Also lots of 6EX's on 2.4 ghz and some radios with 7 channel modules. No problems that I am aware with the radios. There is 175 registered pilots at the event. There is only about 20 72 mhz being used. The rest are 2.4 ghz. A mixture of Futaba and Spektrum/JR.

As the OP of this thread i'd just like to let you al know that i picked up my 7C 2.4G today. Yay!

Its been tested by Ripmax in the UK so it should have none of the problems that some of the first units had.

i've finally programmed my 7c 2.4g and, simply put, this thing is amazing. i really had no idea what i was missing before, just using a 6ex 72mhz. 100% improvment all around.
