I thought the Futaba FASST 7C was available to buy in the U.S?

If so how come nobody on here seems to be buying them?

I want to know if its worth getting a 7C FASST instead of a DX7?

Anybody got a 7C FASST that would like to comment please?

Sorry can't help you with the 7C, but for what its worth have been using the 6EX 2.4Ghz for the last 6 months, now being used in three helis, and had no problems.

Note however the 6 channel recievers aren't compatible with the 7C, so I would need new recievers if I ever went to the 7C (3 x £60 ouch!!!)

Cheers

That is NOT correct. The 6 channel receivers IS indeed compatible with the 7C.

It is the TM-7 module that is not compatible with the 6-channel receiver.

And BTW the 6 channel receivers are discontinued and have been replaced by a 7-channel.

Oak,

Yep you're right, my mistake, its the replacement 2.4 module thats the problem.

The 2.4 module has been available in the UK for a couple of months, no sign of the 7C in the UK yet (at least not listed on the official Futaba importers Ripmax site), so I assume it will be here sometime in the New Year.

Cheers

I will be selling my 6EX 2.4 for the new 7C 2.4 when it becomes available (January 2008). I love my 6ex but the menu functions are easier on the 7c.

Also so far "0" problems.

Just installed the 7c 2.4 yestersay on my sons 600n. He flew several times and everything is working flawlessly and was simple to set up and program. My son said the responce was much quicker than the PCM he was using.

Have you tried the Futaba forum?

I got mine 1 week before christmas. No problems so far. Used on a Trex450 and a plank.
I got it because it is the only spread spectrum system available. XPS was the alternative but it is not true spread spectrum. So the RF technology was the deciding factor for me.

On the Tower site, only the Air versions are available, Heli not until late Jan.

I have had mine on backorder for two months @ Tower Hobbies.
I kind of hate waiting to get my Trex 600e in the air .....
Is there another supplier?

"Have you tried the Futaba forum?

Yeah but there was nothing there so i thought it was more appropriate to post in the 2.4G forum.

Second that. Have just set up mine and done 8-10 flights on it. No flaws so far.

What makes you say that?
We have been using the 7C 2.4 for months now. No problems here!

Who is your supplier?
The supply shortage is the problem.
All I can find for sale are airplane model, heli is in short supply.

Hobbico is the only supplier to dealers in North America for Futaba. So they all come thru Hobbico. rstacy got there 7C 2.4 heli version from Hobbico/Futaba.

The software in the radio is the same. Just the ratchet is on the throttle in the airplane version and a couple of switches on opposite sides from the heli version.

I do not have 2.4 yet, but will also most likely be chosing between DX7 and 7C. For those trying to decide, I like the 7C programming menus better. I have the 72mhz 7C (same menus) and it has all you need and really easy to use.

Also most of us use the radio's timer. On the 7C the timer has more options like activating with certain throttle % or any switch (like throttle hold). It is always on per your programming. DX7 users sometimes forget to turn theirs on each flight. Right now I'm leaning towards 7C, mostly because I already have the non 2.4 model.

Bought a 7C at Hobby Town USA today. Heliproz has some in stock and Ron is suppose to get some next week. Origianally wanted to get from Ron, but since this is a local shop, I figured I needed to support them. Can't believe how small the receiver is and how light the Tx is :)

Flew 1 flight yesterday (solo) and 3 flights today with another pilot who had 2.4ghz on 14 channel Futaba. No problems here!
Also, I really like this radio. the user interface is awesome and you don't have to use program mixes for gyro or swash to throttle. I'll be hooking up my gov. in near future and will need a Y-harness to do so. Thanks to Marvin who showed me what that is all about and taching my headspeed today :)

ps..I"m coming from a 8103 and 10SX--- I like the short antennas of 2.4ghz and believe this is radio is for me.

Tower just changed the status from "Late Jan." to "Late Feb." I have a new Raptor 50se waiting on it!

Anybody have the scoop on when they are "Actually" going to be available? I need to make a decision!

i guess i was lucky to get my heli version from the LHS when i did, they havent been able to restock it yet, obviously a shortage

that aside, i absolutely love this system, i ran it for dozens of flights in my noisy assed Axe CP which glitches FM like its getting paid to do so, and the FASST didnt have a single issue

Mine is on its way from Heliproz....They seem to be the only vendor to have them in stock right now. Tower lost out on this one. Price was just about a wash with the free shipping from Proz.....

Well I would think Heliproz still had some in stock from a previous shipment. Tower is in the same building as Futaba/Hobbico. So if Tower doesn't have them, the only ones available are the ones that are still in stock at dealers from a previous shipment. When Tower has them in stock again, that means a new shipment has arrived.
