Hi.

I've opened the port range UDP 9000-9005, and forwarded the ports to my local ip (in my nat-settings).

Now, I can create a multiplayer session, but often phoenix says, the session can't be published...., but my friends are able to see the session in the session-browser, but they can't connect to my session. I've tried with and without my software firewall running, but no luck at all.

Are there any other port-settings I have overlooked ?

Regards

Kim

Been in touch with phoenix support, but still no luck (even tried placing the pc in a dmz zone, as suggested).

Same problem at 2 other friends, but one of my friends just creates a session (with success) without modifieng router/ports or anything...:dontknow

That's weird. I have tried another firewall (including ISA Server 2006), but none of them helped. Tried Windows XP instead of Windows Vista, didn't help either. It only seems to work if you use public IP Addresw without a NAT device.

Hey... please post your experience in my previous link.

Router QOC, enable it to the line being used to host Phoenix!!!

Do you mean QoS?

Also has anyone tried one to one type NAT? My linksys router has a function under the NAT section labelled DMZ, which NAT's traffic to the inside host for for all TCP/UDP traffic, so the host should be seen as if its outside the firewall. Might be worth a try.

You can do that, but first you might want to kiss your quicken backup files goodbye....

Yup, I meant QOS . Thanks! But thats what did the trick for me, even DMZ didnt work. I could start a session, people could see it, but noone could join!!!!

Ok, so it is not solved yet!?

A friend of mine now got it working. Ofcourese he created the port forwardings, like we all did. He also disabled the Windows Fireall and disabled all other network interfaces. That did the trick for him, but not for me. I got the feeling it has to do with the computer configuration and not the router.

No sorry I was confusing. Windows firewall has never been a problem, just made sure it was on the exception list. If I disconnect the router and run straight to the modem I had no problems. So , I tried the port forwarding, then I tried the DMZ, no luck same story as I stated above. People could see it but not join it. Then I enabled the QOS and make port 4 (where I had the hard wire to that specific laptop ) as priority.I then can host and all can join. I removed the port forwarding and all was still well, so the QOS definitely made the difference.

Why don't you report this info to PhoenixRC support!?
