I noticed on the finless video that Bob was using cyano to fix bolts into plastic.

How necessary is this? Part of me says, "well, why wouldn't you?" but economy is the essence of engineering so if you don't need to, why would you?

On a related note, I'm quite annoyed the manual doesn't tell you to grease the rotorhead bearings. I thought you were probably meant to, but commonsense isn't always a good guide.

I find there is only a need to CA the bolts into plastic if its a loose fit. If its snug, there is no need since your compressing the plastic and there is natural friction that will hold it in place. Its a judgment call. I think the only time I CA'd any of the bolts into plastic on the Logo build was the tail rotor shaft nut (the fine one) to plastic and the 4 small bolts on the two half cylinder plastic pieces on the flybar holder in the head.

Yes, its a good idea to grease the bearings. The thrust bearings need a good packing and there are some opened radial bearings that should be packed as well. The sealed bearings are already oil lubed and should be fine.

Thanks,

Incidentally, I meant no disrespect to Finless - very clear videos, and it's always good to see how someone else does things.
