View Full Version : Your fuel systems?

How are you folks running your fuel systems? I'm not too hot on the idea of the clunk being in the front but maybe it's not a problem with gassers and the slower fuel consumption? I was thinking of looping the clunk line in the tank and having the clunk rest in the back of the tank instead.

Also I'm curious as to what kind of clunks you folks use. I have the stock one on there now but I read that the one designed by Bill Meador is pretty good for gassers?

The Bill Meador clunk sucks almost ALL the gas in the tank and does it very well. Since the EB can fly 25 minutes, most people seem to only fly about 20 so there is still about 1/5 tank of gas left when they land, If you do that there is no need to run anything other than the stock clunk. If you want to get the full 24.5 than use Bill's Clunk but bbe careful because it is so good at getting up all the fuel, when you are out there is no warning other than silence and an auto. ;).

Jon, I bummed this photo from Malorie's gallery over on another site but...this what she did. The only thing I think that might make this even better would be to get a 90 degree nipple so you don't have to have that bend it the fuel line (not that the bend hurts anthing...just makes a cleaner looking install to me)

Exactly Greg,

I think Chris is updating the Intrepid manual to show the pickup nipple installed in the side of the tank. Buddy Kitchen may be doing this as well.

Good pic!!

Thanks for the feedback, I'm definetly going to try and find a couple of those clunks and some right angle nipples for the tank.

You can get one of the Bill Meador clunks and nipples from MA, they include it in the Spectra Kits. I 99% sure Rick's also has them.

Actually, the thought hadn't occurred to me. Thanks for pointing it out!
