I guess this is the big question. Id be interested to here what your flight expereinces are, both the good and the bad.

I haven't gotten mine built to fly it yet, but I'm hearing really good things about the way this heli flys and its capabilities.

They fly more like a 600 than a 450. Very stable and a lot of hang time like the 600. But it's not as intimidating as a 600 and I want to try more things with it like my 450. I think this will be my most fly heli. My 450 and 600 will be sitting on the side line as backup helis.

Bob if it's not in the vid already could you let us know if the esc got warm/hot where you've got it? I like the idea of being able to stash it away like that but I'd bet there's not a lot of air movement under there. Also, if I remember right from the build vid's you're running 13+/- pitch. Any bogging with the stock motor?

The ESC does not get warm at all where I have it! Ambient to the touch after flying.

Wow great flying! Nice auto too. You're right, that power-to-weight is insane. Looks like a very fun heli.
What landing gear is Kevin using?

i would have to agree that the align 500 flies much closer to the 600 than it does the 450 although i had mine setup with alot of cyclic (which is very easy to do) it moves closer to a 450 than a 600.
i do feel alittle of the weight in some of the moves, perhaps because im running alittle larger packs however this may seem contradicting, the helicopter is very powerful.
this may be great for a beginner as its more stable than a 450 that is closer to a 600 yet has the potential to move like a 450. i was so happy with mine, too bad i had to have an electronics failure on its 5th flight, i miss her so much :bawl
What electronics went bad??

The Trex 500 flies pretty well. Its a much smother flying heli than a 450 (not knocking the 450). However the best thing on the 500 is the tail, the 450's tail isn't the best as most know but the 500's tail is just like a the 600's, ROCK solid!!

Nice video. Great quality to match the flying. After a flight like that what are you putting back in the batteries, and what is your head speed?

I haven't tach it yet, but its the 13T pinion and the curve is 100 percent across. The FP packs are pretty new that was cycle 6 and I put back 2000mah (2010mah actually) into it after that at thats 80 percent.
Also flight was just over 4mins.
