I have just bought a new T-Rex 450sa, I have it put together but having a few problems setting it up.
#1) I have a grinding sound coming off the rear servo
#2) Unable to get the tail pitch slider centered, after I reset the heli it wants to move to either side.
#3) After balancing the blades I have worked on the tracking but the funny thing is, that before I can get it up to speed it starts to vibrate and the tracking is off, but once I get it up to speed the vibrations stop and the tracking is perfect
#4) I have setup my Spektrum DX6 the way the book has shown but not to sure if it is right.
I have followed a few videos that I found here and they have helped a lot, but have not found anything on these few things.
thanks for any help that can be provided

Frog,
# 3 could be the problem of your blade grips too tight... They have to move in the grips with a little resistance, ya can't crank the screw tight in the grips.
# 1 rear servo... or what ever the servo dedication is, try this, Plug that servo into a port with nothing between it ie. gyro and remove the linkage. Try it out with the TX to see if it makes a strange noise with the output shaft NOT connected to anything.
# 2 I'd need more info on what's happening there...explain
# 4 Can't help with that brand radio. I'm not familiar with it.

1) Which servo, rear cyclic servo (mounted in the frame) or the tial servo? What servo model is it? Digital servos tends to chatter and makes strange noises as they are constantly making small motions.
2) Which gyro? Which mode? There are different videos for setting up different gyros.
3) Blades may also be too loose. Trex likes the blades a tighter than the larger helis. With a larger heli you extend the blades, hold the heli sideways so the blades are parallel to the ground. Teh should not fall under their own wieght, but should fall if you give the heli a jerk. Trex blades should be tigher than this, it should take a SHARP jerk to get any motion.
4) If you followed the Finless CCPM videos and Jermo DX7 setup videos, you should be pretty close, but best would be to see if someone is local and can give your heli a once over.

In addition:
#1. if it is a digital tail servo it will buzz a lot. If it is a regular (cyclic) servo you may have stripped the plastic gears turning the servo horn manually. I have done this.
#2. In HH (heading hold) mode the slider will sometimes creep to one side, but only on the bench, it will not do it in flight. If you move the stick or heli it might recenter and then drift/creep again.

I was able to get a few things working with the info you guys gave thanks. The tail servo was the one giving be the problem I just had to change my travel adjustment in the radio. The only problem I sill have is the main blades, When I spool up to about 50% everything is fine but when I go higher then that to about 60% it shakes bad, and looks like the tracking is off, but when I get to the point that it can hover everything goes back to being perfect. I have made sure that the blades are balanced. and the grips are not to tight.

Grips may be too loose also. So as you spool up one blades lags behind and makes it shake.

Are you talking about were the grips connect to the components to the main shaft or were they connect to the blades, I have check both I am just a little lost!!!!!! :(
I have also made sure that nothing is bent. If anyone knows a place that I might take this heli to here in colorado to have a once over done. The fun part of all of this is that it has not left the ground yet and it is killing me:)

Well i ahve fixed it. :clappp for the tail servo I needed to change the travel adj.
for the main blades I fixed by luck. Now keep in mind I have been working on this problem for a while now, so please pass this on to other newbie like myself. I broke the swash plate and relaced it but when I put it all back together I did not make sure the auto rotation wheel was not touching the mounts for the motor the main shift was just low enought to hit it and bounce the hole head, so now the collar is nice and tight and no problems. Thank for all your help I am glad I have found this site.
