Actro Motors and the Shaft support

Question for all you fellow Actro owners did you end up cutting the motor shaft so that you can use the third bearing support?

Will a Dremel cut off disk work?

On my Z50-800 I ended up cutting down the little stub shaft that comes with the bearing support rather than hacking up the motor - works very well.
