I have a 8month old 2170Mah FP 3SP1 pack whiche is seems have gonne bad, my Trex is pulsing with about a seconds pulse with this pack, but seems to be working perfectly with other packs. I might have damaget the pack from storing to long with a charge, but im not sure as it was working perfect one trip, then pulsing the next. And no, it aint low voltage as the pack was fully charged hours before the flight today.

Question is tho, is there anything to do with the pack or do I simply have to buy a new one? It's not alot of money, but I buy FP packs to avoid problems and to get quality, and im abit dissapointet the packs gives in after about 20 cycles while the Align battery that came with my V2 is still working great...

What kind of warranty does FP offer in my case?

Contact Steve (FP support) at FlightPower and ask...
www.flightpowerusa.com (http://www.flightpowerusa.com/)

Yes packs do get WEAK if stored for a few months fully charged... Ask me how I know! Imaging a 6S 4900 that I havent used in 2 months and when i went to use it it had NO power anymore.

What is the replacement procedure for your situation with the 6S 4900? Do they offer a replacement pack at a discount rate or are you just shirt out of luck. I have a similar problem as "felborn". I have 2 Flightpower 6S 4900 (bought at the same time) that are "dud's". They can't hold the voltage at all. I verified it doing a discharge cycle on the battery's and comparing them to 2 older (aboout twice as old) packs. The older packs hold the voltage longer. And plus you can notice the power imediately in flight. I tried contacting Flightpower USA with no luck via email.

i believe that by cycleing the deadened packs a few times with a good charger/discharger you could bring it back some, eh?

I had 3 FP lipos go bad on me after about 6months of use and about 80 charges on each (i do keep track, not a guess). Heli barely had enough power to lift off anymore, while my TP pack which under went the same treatment was and still is perfectly fine. I contacted FP and they offered me a 35% discount on new packs mostly due to their age. Better then nothing i guess, but i will be trying some other brands when i kill these replacements.

I just called flightpower concerning packs that are over a year old and have power issues. They told me that there is no discount on replacement of packs after a year. I wish I knew that before I bought my packs for my trex 500. Thunder power has a 50% off policy after a year. That makes my choice a lot easier, I just wish I had known before, since I have around 6 FP batteries.

seems to be mixed reviews on FP's warranty and pack performance. i've been told stories on both ends of the spectrum, great packs but ****e warranty; terrible packs but FP took care of it: ****e packs and ****e warranty ect. i'm surprised that lipo pack producers/retailers haven't come up with a little computer chip that's in the pack, that will tell exactly how many cycles, the pack age, first charge date, discharge history ect. i know milwaukee tools has a 28v lithium packs for their cordless tools, and if you need to have warranty work done on one of those 28v packs they can somehow extrapolate the in service date of the pack and how many cycles are on it. hell, whilst they are at it they (FP, KP, TP ect) should use such a microchip and have (either through the balance lead or a separate dedicated connector/harness) a lead that we can hook up to our computer to see such info. if milwaukee tools can do it, why not lipo manufacturers for our industry?

You want to pay more for lipos ? it's also unnecessary.

TP warrants their packs longer than one year? WOW if they do, there is nobody that I know of who warrants longer than a year!!

So, who has the best customer service with Lipo's. I know flighpower doesn't answer emails. How about Thunder Power and Air Thunder?

I'll have to disagree with FP's customer service ignoring us. Like Finless said earlier, email Steve.

I crashed two 3s EVO 25s on Wednesday; emailed Steve on Thursday with a crash pic; got his response for me to email a phone number on Friday; did so on Monday and got a phone call two hours later. FlightPower even gave me the choice of replacing the 2 3s packs (which I was running in series) or a single 6s EVO 25. I didn't look at the price differential if any, but what the heck? - if the cells are more matched, I'll take it. After the phone call, FP got the battery to UPS and I had it in my greasy little paws one week and a day after the crash. Unfortunately, this was at the beginning of the month and the heli is still dead....

Wish Align had this type of policy. ;)
