With the setup that I had, Mine crashed a set of Young Blood Blades and I still can't find the Blade ball link connector,
Mine Rolled Hard left on take off, I'm still working out the bugs of being Stupid about the basic setups of the DX7 / AP2000I / TREX600N.

:YeaBaby: I just order the Blade ball link connectors and other staff cause crashed couple hours ago with same symptoms but from 10-15 meters

by the way - is it good thing to upgrade software in AP2000I?

I have a couple TREX600's but I'm not swapping parts, I'm waiting on the ball links and blades before I screw with mine again.
I think the problem has something to do the DX7 MIX confilcting with the AP2000I MIX.

what is relation in how far on a boom the sensor is mounted?

my heli always wants to roll Right, when I activate AP2k I see swashplate tilts right a bit
If you tilt the IR sensor a little bit to the right, the swashplate won't.

In you're AP menu, what are your setting for PitR, AilR and EleR? At what gain % were you when it rolled on the ground?

Other than the setup for switch function(Dale posted in this topic for DX7), there are no DX7 specific settings. You must make sure that you did not give the AP2000i too much control authority when you did your setup.
If you're not sure, please call me. 440-336-8315.

No need to be breaking any more parts.

Thanks for taking my call this Morning Mark!! Great job explaining things.
I did have the AileS and the Elevs Backwards,,,,

Sorry I had to cut the call short, I was on the way to the Docs office. I had a Curtis Youngblood blade strike on my right leg when a Grip Bolt popped out at 3/4 stick in the TREX600N. I heard that "POP" and a fraction of a second later "Wack",,,, Oh Shizznit,,,
Hurt worse than when I was shot with a 9MM Black Talon round last year. That was the Other leg Dang it.. I'm investing in some Cavlar leg pads. Body Vest doesn't seem to be where the projectiles are flying,,,

...when a Grip Bolt popped out at 3/4 stick in the TREX600N. I heard that "POP" and a fraction of a second later "Wack",,,, Oh Shizznit,,,

:shock::shock::shock:
What? did the grip fail? plastic or metal. I have heard about failures with the plastics in the 600 section. Or did something go wrong with the bolt itself?
Glad you are not too hurt and are in good spirits. My heli has been flying so smooth, i've been following it around by just a few feet. Next time i'm flying, i'll think about you and stay a little farther away ;)
the 700mm blades are starting to feel normal to me. Now the 600s on my stock bird seem small :YeaBaby:

It was Plastic. I don't know if it was the impact with my leg or somthing else.
I checked the Grips and the train that keeps the bearings in place provided there is a washer tightened on the out side, was missing. So I grabed a bearing on the work bench tried to reinstall it into the grip and it slid all the way through the grip and out the other side, Next time I get some grips with the bearings installed I'll remove them and insoect the grips,
I recently purchased some Hockey Leg Guards and Chest plate with Arm Guards for spinning up New Builds or rebuilds. So basically, it looks like a Storm Trooper from Star Wars flying Heli's//

I took the T600N out, which has the SPartan on it.
Aux 2 Down 2% Up 70%
On 70% It hovers solid, It has a slight drift to the left.
Adjustment at 70% with stick input are like getting hit with a lot of Expo,,,,
I guess that means everything is working right.
I did some 360 deg spins, 1 - 5 rotations slow and fast. @ 70%. Heli never moved from the spot it was in.
I've never setup a AP2000I with IR sensor, or a Nitro Heli, It looks like everything is doing what it's supposed to do.

What I can expect from AP2000i using it in snow covered area?

Unless you're flying in a very overcast day, you can expect it will work as usual. Maybe you will want to increase the gain a bit but I would test fly first.

OK... to start lets assume you followed the Quick Guide for the AP2000i and have that all setup and all the wires plugged in correctly. Also, lets assume the following:

AUX2 is active in the DX7 and you have the gain cable for the AP2000i in there, AND you are still using the GEAR channel for the gain on the gyro (I have a 611).

Step 1:
Bring up the setup menu for your model.
Goto [TRAVEL ADJUST] and for

AUX2 set the values to:

+ 25%
- 110%

You'll see the little arrow -> appears when you flick the AUX2 switch.

Step 2:
Goto [PROG.MIX1]

Set the channel mix (first entry) to
GEAR-> AUX2 ON

Next Entry:

RATE: -125%
0%

Next Entry:

SW: ON
OFFSET: 0

That's it! If the initial setup is the same as mine you'll get this:

GEAR (down) AUX2 (down) = OFF
GEAR (up) AUX2 (down) = CAL
GEAR (up) AUX2 (up) = 35%
GEAR (down) AUX2 (up) = 60%

You can adjust the 60% top end gain by changing the TRAVEL ADJUST (step 1)... increasing the number from 25% will increase this number. You don't have to touch the - -110% as this will always be OFF. If you go to low (around 120%) you will start the CAL process.

You can also change the low end gain (35%) by changing the MIX rate of -125%. I watch the LCD on the AP2000i while clicking the increase/decrease button.

I was worried that since I was using the GEAR channel for the gyro gain I would be messing with that. But after flicking the switches around and watching the LCD on the gyro I saw there was no activity or change. I have the gain on the gyro linked to the flight mode switch in auto.

Hope it helps.
I have been reading the posts about AP2000i on a DX7 with great Interest. I have installed the AP2000i on my Raptor 50 Titan with
limited success.
Currently I am using the gear switch to turn it on and off and have set the gain
to 35%. The swashplate moves around when I wave my hand around the sensor as it should. When I turn on the heli, the AP2k calibrates itself on the ground and I always check to see if the swash moves when I flick the gear switch on. Sometimes it stays perfectly still but most of the time it moves slighly and so I turn it off and on again until the swashplate does not move. I am not sure at this stage if the swash is still level.
I have tested it many times whilst hovering in the air but nearly everytime the heli does not stay level and it heads off sideways or backwards or forwards etc and I have to turn it off or fight it to remain level.
I was wondering if there was a way to calibrate it in flight after it has
been trimmed to hover nicely. I found your info on this but cannot get it to work on my heli and radio. I have follwed the Quick Guide to install it but how do you know if AUX2 is active in the DX7?
FYI:
My current setup is as follows:
With the gear switch up (AP2k=off), I turn on the heli, it goes straight
into CAL for a second and then says DONE. At this point the AP2K and IR sensor is off. When I flick the gear switch down (AP2k=ON), it says 35% as I set it to that by adjusting the Gear value (GAIN) to -12 in the Travel Adjust Menu. I can set the gain by increasing or decreasing this value and you can see the % on the AP2K screen.
All my movements of the swash are in the correct directions as per the
manual.

So My DX7 settings are:

INPUT SELECT
AUX2 GEAR
FMOD GEAR

SWASH TYPE
1 SERVO
NORM

TRAVEL ADJUST
all at default except for GEAR (which is my gain value)
+100......default
-12.........this gives me 35% on the AP2k

Any advice would be appreciated
cheers

The trouble is that you go into calibration instantly. Switching into calibration this way is likely to get just the results that you are noting.

You'll want to set your tx up like the post you quoted or disable the calibration routine and fly without it.

If you can read the CAL/DONE on the screen, the calibration won't be any good in the air as the AP2000i was calibrated with you near the heli.

Mark
I have tried the setup like the previous post but it did not work. The 401 Gyro would not stay on and the CAL/DONE was still happening. I have tried the setup of this post by Deron Douglas on my DX7 but NG.
It says at the beginning:

"OK... to start lets assume you followed the Quick Guide for the AP2000i and have that all setup and all the wires plugged in correctly."
YES I HAVE DONE THAT.

"AUX2 is active in the DX7 and you have the gain cable for the AP2000i in there, AND you are still using the GEAR channel for the gain on the gyro (I have a 611)."
NOT SURE WHAT TO DO EXACTLY HERE TO MAKE AUX2 ACTIVE?
IS IT AS PER MY INPUT SELECT DETAILS I GAVE IN PREVIOUS POST?

cheers

I don't remember specifically how to do the channel assignments on the DX7. I've only set up one, myself. And, I don't have one on hand to work with.
