Hi and Happy New Years to all of you!
I have a Hurricane 550 that I'm rebuilding due to a recent crash where I couldn't pull up due to a linkage popping off. Are there any companies out there making better rubber head dampers for the Gaui Hurricane 550? If so, I would greatly appreciate the hand pointing directions while I'm ordering extra parts to keep her flying in this cold weather. Thank you in advance and happy flying!

Is there a reason for the RunRyder pop-ups???

yeah he's trying to use the runryder smilies, but we all know what type of person mark ryder is so they wont work

Ok, back to head dampers. Do you have the plastic or CNC head? I have the Gaui CNC head and the dampers are extremely stiff, almost like a solid connection. Is this ok as I would expect a bit more movement from the blades to head?

i've got the xes version. not taken the head fully apart yet. do we have dampers in this gem, or shitty orings?

we have shitty orings as dampers, we'll likely need to replace them about every 10hrs of use unless we find a source with the same size orings in a better material

Is everybody's else's head damping real tight? Mine seems to have very little play.

they are tight to begin with, but after some use(of course depending on style of flying, headspeed etc) the orings will start to degrade and the head through the feathering shaft will become sloppy, the good thing is the parts are cheap and easy to replace but with better materials for the orings we will have to replace them a lot less frequently ;)

damn. i'm kind of taken aback by that. the quality of this bird is, in a word, superb. but orings? cheap crappy orings? i thought that was just walkera and helimax lol.

I don't have the bling bling head, just stock for now until I get better at flying so pretty much a sport flier right now. I love this Heli and it's one of my favorites in my fleet so far and that the parts are priced right for replacement. I do agree that the O-Rings are just crap for dampeners and that they have an extremely tight fit on the head. Movement isn't so precise like the dampeners I have on like my Trex's and Raptor's. Wish some company out there will make good dampeners that fit well with better movement for the blade grips and feathering shaft.

i found a huge, and i mean huge variety box of orings of all different sizes/thickness/materials at work today. i'll have to pull an oring out of my head and compair some of them. if i find a good match, i'll be able to hook every freak up for free, as these haven't been touched in years judged by the layer of dust on the box. there's probly a couple thousand of each size in the box.
