I've been using the Phoenix for about a year now, many ugrades versions since I bought it....I like it but still having trouble on the setup. Still can't get the idle up button to work or hold button, trouble gettng phoenix helis to fly like my Trex 450 or 500. I think we need a video (like Bob's setup videos) for the phoenix. I'm sure the Phoenix can be setup right but for me I'm tired of trying. If can't setup this up soon with better results I might have to jump ship and change sim's.
Just wondering if others are having similar problems on the setup?

What I did (JR6102) was setup a Heli SIm model.
Set swash to 1 servo.
Set Normal curves to:
Pitch: 40 - 45 - 50 - 75 - 100
Throttle: 0 - 25 - 50 - 75 - 100 - NO idea why I have a linear curve here, but I don't use Normal in the sim. OH, I remember, I use that for flying planks. :) So gear down I have full throttle throw and with gear up I only use the upper half of the stick range. The 6102 uses the gear switch for Idle Up.
Stunt:
Pitch: 0 - 25 - 50 - 75 - 100
Throttle 100 - 75 - 50 - 75 - 100 (for Nitro helis)
100 - 95 - 90 - 95 - 100 for electric
And use the Idle up switch on the Tx to switch between them.
You could also set up normal for Electric and Stunt for Nitro, or with 2 Stunts set up plank, electric and nitro curves.

You'll also want to set your pitch curve for throttle hold (so you can practice autos). I set it the same as my idle up curve so there's no change in pitch when I flip the switch. Pinecone's 0 - 25 - 50 - 75 - 100 will work fine.
What other DX7 functions were you wondering about 'activating' in the sim?

Yeah, I just set up my 9303 for use with the sim. I set Normal to Plank (linear throttle and pitch curve), Stunt 1 for Nitro (linear pitch curve 100 - 50 - 100 throttle curve) and Stunt 2 for electric (linear pitch and 100 - 90 - 100 throttle curve). :)
Now I can change from one to the other without having to cycle the Tx power.

Thanks for the help, I will try again with the setup, I have my radio setup for 7 planes and 3 helis with no problems. I will check my curves again. The only dx 7 functions I'm trying to get to work in the sim is idle button and th. hold button. That's it! I'll check the curves again and go thru the recalibrate the sticks again.
Thanks again

Did you setup a "model" just for the sim??

Yes I do have a model just for the simulator.......I think I have it figured out, appreciate all the help, fixed my curves, and then I had the pitch set up on channel one instead of 6.
Should be good now
thanks again
