I have just received my new FlightPower EVO30 5s 3200, but I can not find any information in the following instructions, on how to charge the batteries the first time....!

New NiMh batteries usually need to be "activated" by making a short charge at low amp. Is there no special considerations to make when using a LiPo the first time?

Should I discharge the LiPo to 3,0 volt per cell first, and then charge at 1C to full capacity?

Thank you all for any feedback to a LiPo and Heli newbee.....:?

You need to charge them at 1C or 3.2 Amps until full capacity or 4.2 V/cell, then cycle the Lipos by only running them down to 50% for about 5 cycles. Then you should be good to go.

Great - thank you :)

So the first 5 cycles I should use them only to 50%?

Can I do this in a heli (i.e. at near max rated 18C current), or should the current also be limited during the first 5 cycles ?

You should take it easy on the packs during the break in. From my experience, after they start breeaking in, I noticed an increase in power. Different people have different break in procedures. This is just what I do with very good success. JMHO

I have the FP evo-light 2500mAh 18C
By "taking it easy" - should I hover, should I limit current at 9C?
Or manually cycle them at 1C ?

Hover, FFF, EIghts, Circuits, By "taking it easy", I meant not hard 3D stick banging, don't know if it would make a difference, but why chance it ?

Thanks a lot.

My skills will limit my flight time to 5 seconds if I do anything else than hover or circles... ;)
