The Maryland Helicopter Association Fun Fly is June 6-8 this year.

The event is a full three day event. Show up Thursday night and be ready to fly Friday morning. We have some of the best Fun Fly food, with food being served all three days.

The park is a WW2 airfield with plenty of open tent space and camping on site. There is a dedicated novice/hover area.

Free T-shirts to the first 125 registered pilots!

Due to the overwhelming success of last years Novice event, we will do that again this year. And if we can avoid copy right infringements, we may borrow one of the events from the Gathering!

In the spirit of the MHA club motto "We hate to see you crash, but we hate to miss your crash" we will give one free burger or sausage sub to anyone who crashes. (limit of 10 burgers per registered pilot)

We will have night flying Saturday night (and Sunday morning...) at the club field. Last year the Baltimore Boyz sponsored a "how long can you keep your head in the ice water" contest, I suspect we may see that again this year with a larger cash award to the winner. Or maybe who can be tazed the longest without crying Uncle with your head in the ice bucket.

The flight line will only be closed to land full scale aircraft. Contests, events, and demos will not shut the flight line down.

We will have block reservations listed on the web site that will be held until May 6. Unless you like camping under the stars, make your reservations early.

Further details and directions will he be posted on the club web page, www.flymha.com.

See you there. Feel free to contact me for more details or any questions.

Anyone from Atlanta going? I'm toying with the idea right now and would be willing to throw in a fair share for gas. Just gonna be a little far for just me and my 15 mpg passport.

I think I may try to get over to the event this year. I just got a T-Rex 500 and I'd love to check out the talent and the helis. The week before, CASA is running the Spring Sizzle electric fly over in Rockville. Helis are always included.

Based on feedback from this last Huntsville fun fly I feel it’s necessary to propose some new ground rules for the sake of safety and sanity.

Videoing Helicopters and people trying to have a good time.
No complaining about people stepping "in your shot" when you do not even have a camera in your hand when the pilot comes to the flight line.
If #1 does happen. NO THREATENING THE PERSON WITH VIOLENCE.
If a pilot asks HeliFreak to video their flight, do not complain about your shot angle or expect to get the pilot interview first.
If you are in the crowd and do not want to be filmed, just say, "I do not want to be videoed". DO NOT make physical threats.
DO NOT crowd the pilot. Give him and his spotter at least 15 feet.
DO NOT stand around the video camera talking with others or on the phone
