Main Gear waddle [Archive]

Seem like the main gear on my 500 has a lot of slop, and it's causeing a slight oscillation.

Is this by design, or should I put another shim in it to fix it?

Anyone else notice this?

Yep... gear can move up and down a little unliked a 600 or 450. Doesnt cause a problem though.

I have some movement in mine also. It's more noticeable when you spin the main gear by hand. But it hasn’t seemed to be a problem in flight.

Thanks, that is almost the last hurdle, I now have have a motor that makes a horrendous harmonic noise at full speed, So i'll zip over to align and get a new one.

Hey new stuffs bound to have some issues, so I guess they deserve a pass on this bad motor.

Your new motor will probably be the same... I have the same noise and so do some other guys at the field.

Boy, that's good to hear. Mine whines too, and I've been a little worried.
